Music
MUSIC MAKES MY HEART SING AND MY FEET DANCE.
Unfortunately, God did not bless me with singing talent.
Otherwise, I would be belting it out from the rooftops.
Haha! So, I love it ALL.
From what saved my life as a young woman, MOTOWN, R&B to rock.
Today, I love everything from pew shakin' gospel to R&B, smooth jazz, alternative, top 40's, old motown, clean rap, rock, classical and a little country.
There, music rocks! It saved my life.
Ray Charles, Stevie, Al Green, and so many more gave me hope as a child.
I can feel it in the soul. Music is beautiful.
Need I say more? Let's rock on!
Let your voices be heard!! Give all the young and old folk hope!!

BIO
I remember when I was a little girl as early as 5 and thought I was losing my mind, going crazy...being put in the hot dark attic upstairs all night long, with the pull down stairs. There was only one place to sit, otherwise I would fall through the insulation. Curled upon the dusty dirty 2x4's, frozen in one spot, my nostrils swollen shut from the dry wood and dust, grasping for air. Crying so softly, imagining the spiders crawling on my body(am still afraid of spiders today...but I am not afraid of anything else), making sure others could not hear my whimpers so I wouldn't make any more mistakes. Not knowing what would happen next, I would just pray and ask God (Whoever he was, I didn't fully know at the time, but he seemed to be my only hope) to forgive those who were hurting me, to stop all the screaming and fighting, and that I loved them.
As a little girl, I was rationalizing the behavior of adults. I thought to myself "they are ill and need my help, my love."
I became an adult at that moment. I had to take control of my thoughts and behavior, whatever that meant.
A CHILD'S LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL
I came from hardship and dysfunction as many people in THE U.S. have. There are well over 60 million adult survivors of child abuse (much higher) as no one ever called me when they took that survey and I know thousands of others who were never contacted.
I learned to survive at an early age. I lived with hundreds of other children in Parmadale, a large catholic orphanage(they are called group homes today, but they truly are orphanages...for unwanted children, and there are so many in the United States that no one seems to know or care about) in Cleveland, Ohio. I also lived in Kingswood, an orphanage in the east Tennessee mountains. I was tossed and lived in foster homes in several states and saw lots of sickness as a child. My desperate child life took me from the only life I knew, a northern big city to the applalachian mountains in East Tennessee, where I first met my biological father and brothers. From there, life would never be the same again. Where, having to walk miles to the nearest public pool to stay out of the way of my parents (and enjoy the only freedom and happiness i knew)...to a part of the country where I was immediately a second class citizen as a young girl. Where girls are taught to keep their mouth shut, clean the house, are merely sexual instruments and are exposed to extreme violence.
At age 11, my best friend at Parmadale was a little 5 year old boy who was raped by his father. I heard his story and would seek him out every day and protect him. I think of my little 5 year old friend often and it tears me apart. I wonder who he is today, where is he? Is he alive...is he happy? Did he commit suicide? I will find him some day and be able to share with him how he kept me alive all of these years.
Today, I am thankful I have been given life and have finally accepted what it is I am supposed to do. Forgive, inspire, love, educate, give hope to others and be an advocate for children. What else matters?
I really AM just a peon in the grand scheme of thingsand blessed to be alive. Life is so much bigger than me. I have seen alot of what is out there, overcome many extreme hurdles and obstacles in my young years, and somehow came out of it, with a great sense of humor, blessed with a huge heart, determination, strength, vision, insatiable curiousity, courage and thankfulness. I understand my purpose clearly now and have been blessed tremendously by given life. I will do everything I can to help children and those who share my cause.
As a little girl, I witnessed the tub and sink be filled with blood as the result of severe violence, was violently beaten, punched in the face, kicked, called names, sexually abused by my father, beaten across my bare back with belts, forced to stay in a small dark attic, forced awake all night sitting in a corner on my hands, deprived food, forced to stay between the door and screen door until late hours in the cold, not allowed to ever talk on a phone (never knew my own phone number), go in the kitchen where the food was, drank powdered milk because we were poor and was forced to stay up late hours washing all of the dishes in every cupboard in the kitchen for missing a dirty plate. I was never allowed to have friends and locked in my bedroom, staring out the window for days because I was an inconvenience to my parents. My mother once took me to a hospital and tried to have me admitted into a psychiatric home, because she didn't want me anymore. Thank God for those doctors who had me returned to my home. Looking back, I am forever grateful for the pain I endured at the hands of my parents instead of being put into a mental hospital where I knew I did not belong. When I was kicked out of the house daily, I was fondled by the neighborhood boys, beaten up and chased home from school every day by the girls because I was pretty. I learned little in school from having been deprived of sleep. Eventually I ended up in the system which it too, would have consequences.
One of the most traumatic times of my life was when I was taken from a foster home so they could replace me with an infant. There were not enough foster homes in the appalachia mountains back then. So the police came to retrieved me along with whatever few items of clothing I had. I thought I was being taken to a better place, where I would be loved but instead was driven 40 miles to the next nearest city, Knoxville, Tn. I was so happy for freedom and the chance to be loved and wanted. In my maxi coat, I walked up the long steps to the building behind the Coco Cola plant, off of Interstate 40, holding the police man's hand, thinking this was my next home where I would be loved and wanted. Instantly I felt fear upon looking at what appeared to be a commercial building. This was no home, but instead, was a juvenile facility. After being put in a space with about a dozen other girls, I was immediately beat up by the girls. There I was, with my only belongings...a maxi coat and a small suitcase of clothes. I stayed there for 2 or 3 weeks. Locked behind metal doors as a junvile delinquent, for no reason of my own. I had not stripped at a rock concert as they had, I didn't smoke cigarettes and had done nothing wrong other than wanting to be loved as a child.
I got my first apartment at 15, finished high school and entered college at 16. At 18, I dropped out of college to take care of my 13 year old half sister whom I gained legal custody of, in attempt to keep her out of the foster system. I worked two jobs. At 21, I was supporting my 14 year old half brother. At age 25, I became a successful entrepreneur as a founder of a cellular company.
TODAY, I LEAD A HAPPY AND PRODUCTIVE LIFE. I have been writing my story and hope to have it completed some day.
For the past 25 years I have devoted my spare time to doing humanitarian work while going through my own struggles. Helping others in what little way I could helped me to overcome many obstacles and break the cycles of abuse and destruction. I have been an active advocate for crimes against children and animals on a domestic and international level. Most all of my work has been raising awareness and campaigning privately for tougher sentencing against child abusers and molesters in the U.S. I have files full of my work. I founded Children Without A Voice USA Christmas eve, 2007 and spent 5,000 volunteer hours in its first 12 months in building the organization. I devote about 12 hours or more each day to this cause.
Finally, my ending statement. Though I applaud the efforts of other interest groups, humanitarians and U.S. corporations fighting against AIDS, global warming, poverty and other world causes, I believe there needs to be GREATER INVOLVEMENT WITH THE PLIGHT OF ABUSED CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES. How can we help the children in Russia, South America, Thailand, Brazil, Malaysia, Africa, Cambodia, Indonesia, India and elsewhere IF WE DON'T PROTECT THE CHILDREN IN OUR OWN BACKYARD? THEY ARE SCREAMING OUT FOR OUR HELP. THEY ARE KILLING EACH OTHER AND THEIR PARENTS, WHY YOU WONDER?
I would much rather save a child's life than the life of a tree, but that's MY choice. In my little spare time, I enjoy gardening and dream of having a small sailboat some day. I treasure the sounds of the ocean, birds, children, my animals and my husband.
Nearly 3 million American child abuse cases are reported each year in this country. REPORTED. BUT experts estimate the number to be three times greater, putting child abuse cases at 9 MILLION. EPIDEMIC PROPORTIONS. Every day, 4 children die from abuse in THIS country. SBS (Shaken Baby Syndrome)is a horrible tragedy and rapidly growing.
Let's start right now and in THIS country and stop the rampant heinous crimes against OUR MOST PRECIOUS NATURAL RESOURCE-OUR CHILDREN. I challenge ALL celebrities, musicians, corporations AND ALL OTHERS to join me in being a voice for our children. All we need is your voice, time or money. Please help America's children by going to our official website and making a donation or volunteering your time today. (No other child prevention organization in the U.S. provides FREE educational materials on their official website. Thank you for reading my bio.

Good morning dear friends and hope this day brings many blessings. Sorry it has taken so long to get out comments but this last trip left me drained. Mom and I stayed up to late talking both nights. Love it!! Judy
Does your organization have a representative from the Pennsylvania area? If so, please have them contact me at james.r.martin@comcast.net so I can set up a meeting. I am a youth advocate from PA working with PA lawmakers to change our child abuse laws. We are also planning out a conference in PA later this year to discuss child abuse. Any help from your organization would be greatly appreciated.
