I LOVE being home, off the road - baking, being a homebody, watching movies, cooking & creating, hosting parties. Good friends & real people, sitting by the fire w/ good red wine & pickin' my guitar. Traveling for work/music & pleasure- that goes without saying - and I'd be lying if I said I didn't prefer it alone. I've been working on a book for awhile now. I started & run a group here in Innsbruck for expats & locals. www.InnsbruckExpats.com I love photography, amateur filmmaking & editing, British charity shops, studying german, walking in the rain or snow, being a tumbleweed.<3 I collect hat pins for my fishing hat I can't find. That is the unfortunate side of being a tumbleweed. I collect stickers for my guitar case. These are usually the only souvenirs I break down and buy - both to keep my load light and pocket full.Music
While in Europe...the sound of trains and church bells, London rain and noisey footsteps. In America...the sound of trains and birds, San Francisco fog horns and people in love making a spectacle. Me and my nieces laughing hysterically and my sister telling us to shut up which of course makes us laugh more. Always...children laughing, stormy weather, crunchy leaves, crunchy snow, sizzling food (and the smell of cooking onions, baking bread of fresh chocolate chip cookies), waterfalls and love as it's being made...Movies

Anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Sandra Cisneros ("Loose Women" is my travel companion and "House on Mango Street" is one book I will never sell no matter how many moves I make), Paulo Cohelo (especially "The Alchemiest" - everyone should own this) and Barbara Kingsolvers early stuff ("The Bean Trees" and "Animal Dreams") etc...etc...etc.. Biographies, history & travel books. Sadly whatever I can find in English when I am in Austria. My favorite thing to do it pick them up in used stores along the road (especially London, they have THE best collection of used books in the charity shops) and give them away as I finish and move on. Confession: I used to steal library books and doctors office magazines until the day my dentist noticed and offered to save the past issues for me. That took all the fun away.Heroes

People that aren't hero's would be arrogant people, competitive people with something to prove and people who are so caught up in themselves they listen to talk. I find a lot of Americans like that here in Innsbruck. No (more) comment.

Had a great time on the Cape - my girlfriend gives me a week at her cottage for a week every summer.
Going to see a research oncologist in Boston on Wednesday. I've run out of options at my currrent cancer center so I've got to get a little more proactive.
How are you doing? I hear you are going to tour Australia! We used to live in Brisbane and on Magnetic Island off the coast of Townsville where we also lived at the Breakwater Marina for a few months.
I would love to visit you in Austria sometime - gotta have goals!
