About me:

Citi Performing Arts CenterSM Education Department is committed to providing innovative and interactive experiences in the arts for people of all ages and abilities. Our free programs provide enhanced opportunities for young people, adults, families, schools, community organizations and artists to experience the arts at The Wang and Shubert Theatres, in classrooms and in the community. Through our full catalog of collaborations, workshops, programs and resources, our mission is to share the arts through education, engagement, interaction and information. Whether your interest is as an active participant or as an enthusiastic audience member, our programs will show you that the arts are for everyone. We are proud to spotlight Citi Performing Arts Center as a place to be inspired and educated, and we invite you to find ways to get involved!

Who I'd like to meet:

[For Young People]

For participants under the age of 19, we offer a range of age-appropriate, all-ability workshops that bring participants into Citi Performing Arts Center to learn new skills, techniques and approaches in the arts. Interviews are held each season for our High School Internship which provides an in depth experience with performing arts and leadership training for ages 14 - 19. Young people can also enjoy a Fun Friday hosted by our City Spotlights High School Interns or a Master Class led by a professional teaching artist.

For registration information, please call 617-532-1221.

[For Adults]

The arts are for everyone, and our programs designed just for adults prove that learning is a lifelong endeavor. We prove that learning new skills and being inspired to try new things is for people of all ages. Workshops are inspired by shows presented on the stages of The Wang and Shubert Theatres, and are led by professional instructors. Adults are also encouraged to join a City Spotlights Neighborhood Ensemble. Explore the vibrancy of Charlestown, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale/West Roxbury and the South End and perform at the Shubert Theatre, May 16, 7:00 pm.

For registration information, please call 617-532-1221.

[College Internships]

Internships offer a variety of responsibilities and learning experiences, including: assisting with the implementation of community workshops and programs; communicating with teaching artists and workshop participants; and working cooperatively and collaboratively with members of the education staff on large-scale projects and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in arts education and administration, and in working with the community, professional teaching artists, and young people. College interns receive a small stipend for their work.

For more information about current internship opportunities, please call (617) 532-1256.
