The Green is a rock and roll band from North Ridgeville, OH. Formed in 1998, it's current lineup since 2003 consists of 4 members of North Ridgeville High School's graduating class of 2000: Mike Keyes on drums, Jon Wysochanski on bass and vocals, Rick Hallman on guitar, and Tony Shultz on vocals and guitar.
The Green plays a wide variety of classic, modern, and original rock and roll. Some of the classic artists you are likely to hear include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Doors, Traffic, Creedence Clearwater Revival, CSNY, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, and ZZ Top.
The band takes a unique approach and intertwines modern rock artists such as Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Sublime, Tonic, Cracker, and U2 with these classic artists; bridging 40+ years of the genre to create a show that entertains a wide age group.
The band has been privileged enough to have jammed on legendary stages in Northeast Ohio; including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the World Famous Agora Ballroom, Peabody's in the Flats, Peabody's Downunder, and The Winchester. They have performed in a Rock for Hunger benefit, closed a night of the 2006 Cleveland Music Fest, and have successfully put together a two night, 7 band concert called The Green Fest.
The band has opened up for national touring acts like The Heirs, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Local H, and Ekoostik Hookah. They have shared the stage with numerous local talent; such as Ready or Not, The Lake Effects, Bonfire, BMZ, Brandon Oliver, Joe Buescher and the Jellycart Jackasses, J. Blues and the Rockits, The Ventilators, and Allegory, to name a few.
There have been numerous recordings made of The Green, including a 1999 NRHS Fall Bash show, a show from 2000 at Peabody's in the Flats, a show from 2000 at the Blind Lemon in Cleveland, a 4 song demo from 2004, an 11 song demo in 2006 which produced a version of "Mustard Seed" that has been played on the Cleveland radio station 92.3 WXRK KROCK. In 2007, a DVD set was made showcasing a Peabody's show in 2005, an Agora show in 2006, and a Bullfrogs show in 2007.
