Cutaway Crossing is five Midwestern guys who all share an incredible passion for living life, creating, and playing great music. Their motivation is singular and simple - passion! "If you don't have passion - you've got nothing! If you're not passionate about what you're doing, just stop doing it!"
CUTAWAY:
The name "Cutaway Crossing" represents the origins and the essence of the band. All of their tunes are developed on acoustic guitars - the majority being cutaways.
"Nothing can quite match the vibe and the vulnerability of three acoustic guitars working it out with the rhythm section...that's when the real magic happens!"
Also, playing together is the band's reason for "cutting away" from what they normally do, day in, and day out.
CROSSING: Cutaway Crossing's music is a "crossing" of a number of influences, genres, textures, and years of very different experiences crossing back and forth across the US. There ya have it. CUTAWAY CROSSING!

Cutaway Crossing's debut album "This Exit" was released in the Fall of 2008 and features 11 original up-tempo, acoustic-driven tracks from the band. Nine of the eleven tunes were written by Bendle. The other two (Knock Me Down & Luckenbach Today) were written by Bendle's former Atomic Wood band mate and Dallas resident, Adam K. Zoellner.

For a debut album it’s very assured. There are lots of extremely familiar Americana sounds and influences, including Whiskeytown and The Old 97's, but they’ve certainly got their own distinctive sound.....Definitely worth a spin and probably a purchase
