DEADLEE launched his career earlier this millennium. Initially his style was a blend of hip-hop and rap, with a thrash rock undercurrent, his lyrics tackled race, class, sex, and even police brutality.
DEADLEE has garnered much press with his groundbreaking, genre-screwing approach, attracting cover stories in New York Daily News, Rolling Stone, Wired Magazine, XXL Magazine, The Advocate, L.A. Weekly, Philadephia Gay News, Urb, Instinct, and Variety to name a few.
He was interviewed not once but twice by CNN, was a guest on THE HOWARD STERN SHOW -where Howard promised a show down with 50 CENT on a future show! He also appeared on the Emmy-nominated Tyra Banks Show on April 13, 2007.
Deadlee was also in a LOGO reality show called ..Hip Hop Homos.. and the video for his ..Good Soldier II.. song is played on both of the Channel..s music shows (New Now Next and The Click List). He has two CD..s, ..7 Deadlee Sins..(D&D Records) and ..Assault with a Deadlee Weapon..(A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Records) under his belt.
DEADLEE will release a Unreleased and B-Sides CD available digitally only. The CD titled KISS ME DEADLEE will include his cult hit NASTY, BANG featuring Down Low, DADUNDADUNS featuring Q Boy, THAT'S RIGHT THAT'S RIGHT from the movie HOOCHIE MAMMA DRAMA. A total of 11 songs including 3 new songs -FAGGOT'S WORLD with guest rappers , ALL I CAN SAY featuring Captain Magik, and TAKE ME THERE. CD will be available before the end of 2009. Look for a new CD of new material produced by BLOODBEATZZZ and DJ PAIN ONE first half of 2010.
DEADLEE is yet another rapper turned actor following in the footsteps of Will Smith, Queen Latifah, Ice-T, LL COOL J, & DMX to name a few. Deadlee was commissioned to do a song for the Daniel Zirilli Independent film VENGEANCE. Daniel than asked him to audition for the lead, but he did not get the role because he looked too young at the time to have grown kids. Daniel Zirilli still gave Deadlee a cameo and that was the start of Deadlee catching the acting bug!
After reading an article about acclaimed acting coach Bobbie Shaw Chance, Deadlee knew he had to take classes from her. Some of her clients include Drew Barrymore, Anthony Hopkins,Kurt Russell, Rob Reiner, Andy Garcia, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Two years training at Expressions Unlimited under Bobbie 'www.bobbiechance.com', and Deadlee was more confident on stage and ready to audition! In 2005 he got a bit part in the Zombie thriller, DEAD MEN WALKING, which has become a SCI-FI Channel Cult Hit! He followed that with another part in the KOREAN LANGUAGE FILM- 'HERS'. A LAPD Commercial and the TRU TV Series, NORTH MISSION ROAD, and Deadlee was ready for the next step: HIS FIRST LEADING ROLE!
