DEEP, DARK, DIRTY. MELODIOUS, CADENCED and at times HAUNTING. These are only a few words to describe what DJ AADIL brings to his sets. His style is distinct and consistent. NO SIGHT, but NO DOUBT that it’s AADIL when he hits the decks. His ability to infuse vocals, deep baselines, build-ups and drops are fluid and smooth yet full of energy and intensity. His incredibly impressive track selection is always steps ahead of the game and his fusion of mixes and layering from track to track is hypnotizing and infectious. This DJ’s sets are guaranteed to take you on a journey where you can't help but feel every moment, every beat, and every tempo pulsing through your veins.
AADIL’s adaptability to what’s current and hot makes him nothing less than a crowd pleaser and one of the most creative and versatile DJ’s in Toronto’s underground EDM scene. Whether it’s tribal, tech house, minimal tech, electro or progressive, AADIL’s masterful and never-ending quest for a universal and irresistible sound makes him unique. His ability to read his crowd is numinous. He’s got an ambition for perfection, and his capability at mixing and tight programming skills enable him to consistently deliver a flawless set immersed with uplifting, high octane house music earning him the respect of fans and peers alike. His sound is so addictive he will always leave you wanting for more.
DJ AADIL has been a staple in Toronto’s EDM scene since 2003 and has held residencies in two of the longest running house clubs in the city, including the world-renowned COMFORT ZONE and the infamous FILM LOUNGE where he spins the closing set every Saturday night.
Although his reputation as an underground house DJ is notorious, the other side of the coin is his equally impressive transition into the mainstream scene of Toronto’s club nightlife.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, AADIL moved to Toronto in 1991. Music became an influence early in his life but it wasn’t until Toronto that music became more than just an interest and influence. It was here that music – all genres – became his passion and religion. A future in it was inevitable.
At the age of 17 this young aspiring DJ bought his first set of turntables, splitting the cost with a friend. He found himself spending every free moment learning, listening and practicing his passion. Although his reputation in underground house is well established and renowned, it was his love of Hip Hop, R&B, and Reggae that truly set this DJ’s career in motion.
Whether urban or electronic flavor his ability to skillfully blend an array of old and new school flavors has made him capable of pleasing a variety of different audiences. It is this kind of versatility that has given AADIL the opportunity to hold residencies at some of Toronto’s hottest venues. His continued passion for Hip Hop and R&B has driven him to practice the art of turntablism.
In 2001, DJ AADIL started to break into Toronto's mainstream club scene. In 2003 he became a staple in Toronto’s underground house scene. By 2005 he had arrived and had become the only DJ to find success in both underground house and in the mainstream scene at the same time.
The increasingly prolific AADIL is currently honing his production skills and is taking the next steps to becoming internationally known. He is always learning and looking for new ways to impress his crowds.
