About me:
I am a former series 7 licensed financial advisor, who resigned out of corporate america and started hanging with an Inglewood based music producer and rap group the Funkklann "in the hood", dealing with drug dealers and rappers and whatever it took to become a professional rapper. I was a salesman for a longtime and my job as a financial advisor was essentially sales. The office walls couldn't hold my flows and many people encouraged me to pursue rap as a career. When I was getting good Eminem was very famous and many people asked me "are you the next Eminem". I had an LA manager for many years and I did my best to combine rappin' with my life..except that I had gone to jail because my producer was also an artist and he got me involved in a street hustle gone bad...and I got fucked by the hood and really fucked by the Torrance PD and the Bank of America when I unknowingly deposited a forged check and then a counterfeit check which we hoped was good payment for my boys songs...but the worst part is my friend and producer and label dream partner didnt go to court or talk to public defenders to back up my innocence. ...when you grow up like I grew up and was accomplished like me and then one ignorant COP & a homeboy that wont go to court for you fucks up your rap career and ability to get any job you would qualify for and takes away your financial services career..which was always there if rap failed to make $...then you're left bitter and angry..and then you forgive him and then you try to start the dream back up but it never works out because you cant go back in time and you cant recover a crushed and stolen dream...so my advice is simple...DONT FUCK WITH STREET MONEY IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE TO..CASH ONLY...the talent scout FOR J RECORDS who might've signed me in the beginning was right..."never forget how ingrained rap is in the black culture"...rap is the black man's voice because it has been silenced on purpose for so long...so I retired as a rapper because regardless of what you say as a white rapper and regardless of how tight you spit...you will always have a huge barrier to go through when you first test the audience...remember...eminem "grew up poor"...that is KEY. think about it..thanx for reading this...peace, THE REAL DP
