I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
During the last 9 years, I have been co-host of a bluegrass radio show called Bronzewound on WERU-FM in East Orland Maine (Thursdays 8-10 pm - www.weru.org). I've also hosted bluegrass radio programs in MA and TX. I report monthly to Bluegrass Unlimited's National Bluegrass Survey Chart.
I play upright acoustic bass (1950's Kay model S-1) and clawhammer banjo (Ramsey) in Blue Northern (myspace.com/bluenorthernband). I was a member of Green Mountain Railway (http://www.greenmtrailway.com/), a high-energy Mount Desert Island, Maine-based old-tyme fiddle and celtic dance band (playing doghouse and the contra bongo), and played and recorded with Kate Wegner and Chuck Donnelly (http://www.katewegner.com/).
Over the last couple of years, I've really been drawn to the modal sounds of the frailing banjo - also very rhythmic and percussive. I really enjoy those traditional tunes played with just banjo/fiddle or banjo by itself. Simple and soulful, yet lots of energy and tons of expression.
The songs posted here are originals featuring banjo, doghouse bass, acoustic guitar, and octave mandolin - I'm playing all the instruments.
