I am an intellectual. I believe that truth is often stranger than fiction and it is those things that make me think. I also like to learn new things. So new science discoveries interest me. String Theory, Invisibility Cloak, Nuclear Fusion and Artificial Intelligence to name some.
I also am into art and music. I love music of all sorts. My favorites tend to be Rock, Folk and Celtic. Besides music, I am into 3D computer graphics. My application of choice is 3ds Max.
Finally, I tend to be interested in just about anything to do with computers. It is, after all, what I do for a living.
Music
I love all types of music. One of my favorites is Celtic. A couple of my favorite artists in this catagory are:
I like other kinds of music too. I just don't have the time to list them. As I find new music I like I will try and post them here.
Movies
I love movies that take you somewhere else for a while. But they have to be consistent in their storyline. Logic flaws can really ruin a movie for me. (Like in the last Star Wars movie when the ships in space were tilting, there is no gravity so why are people sliding down the deck? If I let that go, then why didn't R2D2 use his jet pack to fly around instead of sliding down the deck? But anyway...) I like long stories too. So I loved the Lord of the Rings series, The Matrix series and the Underworld movies. All of these are great.
If you love to think (like I do) there is a little known, must see movie. It is called What the BLEEP do we know? I don't agree with all of the ideas presented, but it will definitely make you think. From what I can tell a cult called The Cult of Ramtha are the driving force behind the creation of the movie. Again, I don't believe in a lot of the things this group is about, but one of their precepts is the idea that you should never stop learning. That don't sound bad to me.
Television
I don't watch a lot of TV. I mostly watch sports now. The Pistons or the Red Wings. I try to not miss a game. Some other shows I try to record are
I haven't read for fun in quite a while. I find I read a lot of learning books for my career. Right now I am reading Pro C.. 2005 and the .NET 2.0 Platform. The last three books I read for relaxation were:
All of these books were awesome and I completely recommend them.
Heroes
This is easy. I really only have one hero but because I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, I will keep that secret to myself. (or at least make you ask me in person.)
I am some where between the man I used to be and the man I want to be.
Who I'd like to meet:
I am always looking for new friends. To me personality is most important. Physical niceties can change in a heartbeat and often people have no control over how they appear physically. But personality is something we can exercise a bit more control on. So I tend to like considerate, caring and fun loving people. (Don't we all?!) People who tend to think about a situation and where they want to go instead of reacting to it. People who tend to realize that they are important in the world, but they are not alone. Ok, enough of this. Listing these things makes me feel demanding!
