Drake: parlo di me |
Chi sono:
Single White Male *** Is that an adequate beginning? I can’t imagine anyone that doesn’t already know me moderately well will be opening this site. So, an update is in order for those who haven’t seen me since college/high school.
I moved to STL immediately upon graduating from ISU in 2002. I spent about 18 months there unsuccessfully hawking copiers down the street. Count me out for more of that self-effacing fun. Dude, that job sucked. It was so bad, I had three managers in 15 months. Even the people who were supposed to be in charge thought the place sucked. So, I moved to Indy where I hold a good job with a good company with mediocre pay. I'm finally no longer living a quasi-Hautean life.
I live in Irvington. I have a little house and a little yard and a little one-car garage. I like it. I’m midget-y, so I don’t need a lot of space. The best part of the house is the 100% finished basement. Awesome! That’s where I spend most of my time if at home and not in my yard.
The Democratic Party has become a big part of my life now, so much so that I'm now the Treasurer of Indiana Young Democrats. When I moved to STL in 2002, I knew no one in the city. I lived on the blogs, C-SPAN and CNN. I couldn't understand then, nor now, why we were going to Iraq. Since then, I have studied public policy deeply. Seriously, for someone who's not paid to do it (read: pundits), I don't lose many policy debates. And don't get me started on the current state of the Republican Party. Not even Republicans are Republicans anymore. Apparently, if we damn the Earth, it will hasten Christ's eminent return.
Guess what, I doubt He needs assistance with his predetermined plan. He's God, dude. I believe we've been called to witness His love, not create a threocracy. Want a theocracy? Go to Saudi Arabia. Tell me how it works out. Remember, the only thing protecting your ability to practice your faith here in America is the fact that the right to practice a faith - of any choosing - is protected. For those who want to put their faith or 'religion' into government seem to be under the impression that their faith or religion will be the basis of government practice. On the island of Manhattan there are over 180 languages spoken daily. (Or so I've heard.) And you think in a country of nearly 300 million people it'll be your faith that policy is based on? I wouldn't count on government coming through for me like that. And I'm a Democrat. We actually believe in governmental control through citizenry!
