About me: What makes a great producer Well it's a lot more than twisting knobs and pushing buttons. A great producer is an integral part of each and every project he undertakes. From the instrumentation to writing to motivation, a great producer is as essential to an exceptional recordinq as the artists themselfs.
Producer Dito Godwin epitomizes these rare qualities. Godwin comes from an impressive lineage of musical experience. Originally from New York City, he began his career as a performer playing at the top club's in N.Y. His considerable talents as both a writer and player led him to record deals with both R.C.A. and London Records and tours with such legendary acts as Black Sabbath, Supertramp and Santana etc. Eventually, Godwin's musical travels led him to a love for producing, and he moved out to Los Anaeles to further his career.
Moments after he stepped off the plane, Godwin set up his own production company to set standards as one of the most prominent producers for up and coming bands in L.A. One of Godwin's first projects was the promotion for Motley Crue's "Too Fast For Love* a platinum record.
From that auspicious beginning, Godwin has gone on to produce such artists as Interscope Records smash hit band "No Doubt", Peter Criss and Ace Frehley of "Kiss"r "Great White's "Let It Rock, and solo projects for Jani Lane of "Warrant" and Jack Russell of "Great White". Godwins style of production is as varied as his client's. He produces artists from all over the world . some are famous platinum selling artists and some are new artists and song writers who's music needs development and attention from the record industry.
Godwin's involvement in the production process is all-encompassing. He is an active participant in both writing and arranging and often comes up with the key hook that makes the song special. An accomplished musician himself, Godwin has the ability to work with musicians on an intensive level. Godwin's greatest contribution, however, is his uncanny ability to unleash once-in-a-lifetime performances from his artists. No matter what it takes, Dito Godwin will discover it and bring the artist to the pinnacle of performance. His innovative and original recording and mixing techniques give the artists he works with a polished sound without erasing any of their personal distinctions. Godwin's productions are accurate presentations of music style and altitude in the most honest, yet flattering light possible.
