I keep a tight-nit, but growing collective of mainly friends i want to keep in touch with, other artists, collaborative types, industry types, and music fans here on mySpace, and there is most definitely method to my madness, as detailed below.
I joined mySpace with intentions on using it as an additional vehicle to promote my music, (DJing, Electronic dance productions and remixes, collaborative projects) and keep in touch with actual friends in my circle. Conversely to some, which seem to be nothing more than teenage popularity contests, to see who can accumlate (read: "litter up the page with") as many so called "Friends" as possible. That's not my thing, but to each their own.
So this means, unfortunately, i most often restrict friend requests to those fitting any of the following impromptu descriptions:

Producer
Remixer
Promoter
Label reps, Agents, Management, etc.
Artists who want to collaborate on projects/remixes
dancers
Fans of the music i spin, create, or perform
Models - (yes, i also Photograph artistic, erotic compositions)
Photographers
people in the industry, of any aforementioned areas
