Benji Davidson

About me:

Being introduced to electronic music at the age of 11, Benji Davidson certainly had an early start at tuning his ear for quality dance music. He had his first experience when his older brother returned from Germany with a few generic “techno” compilations…he has been hooked ever since. Through the next few years his taste had traveled through nearly every genre until eventually finding his obsession for house music; and in 1997 at the age of 18, bought his first pair of turntables. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Benji got his first start in djing through the Midwest rave scene in the late nineties. From there he progressed into the Cincinnati/northern Kentucky club scene. While this scene was dominated with more commercial sounds at the time, Benji pushed the envelope and believed in playing the freshest sounds house music had to offer. At the age of 23 he moved to Los Angeles for his parallel career in design. He quickly fell in love with the west coast scene, and being a versatile dj, he was able to find way with warm welcome. Now, Benji continues to try and meet more and more house music fans whenever possible, as this community is his passion. He has had the pleasure of sharing the decks with the likes of Charles Feelgood, DJ Dan, Dj Disciple, The Groove Junkies, Highpockets, Sir Piers, Lars Behrenroth, Scotty Boy, Scooter & Lavelle, DJ Colette, DJ Ruff, and Angel de Frutos among others... Currently, Benji holds residencies in the south bay at THE CRUZ ROOM, and DRAGON in Hermosa Beach and MUCHO in Manhattan Beach. He can also be heard at various places throughout Hollywood and Orange county. Check out the calander for upcoming shows!
