About me:
"Eating Levi" is a documentary about Levi Oliver's -- an Austin slacker and all around cool guy -- relentless quest for fame and self recognition in the bizarre world of competitive eating. The film follows Oliver, the world's first sanctioned Tamale Eating Champion, as he attempts to defend his precious title. Seemingly, he will do anything for victory and a place in eating history. This road takes him everywhere from the consumption of mayonnaise to make food easier to swallow to training for a triathlon to make him a faster eater.
"Eating Levi" is a funny and poignant look into the mind of someone driven to be famous in and excel at his "sport" of consumption.
In the end, it is a film about character, desire and the devouring of a hill of tamales.
