Eduardo Roberto Martinez has been manipulating music in one way or another since 1986. At first, it was as a DJ with Hip Hop and Freestyle music. Then, after a stint in the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Persian Gulf War, he settled back into New York City and picked up where he left off by playing Techno and House music at the many “raves” that went on back then.

On it went until 1995, where he retired from the club circuit for a job, which required him to travel extensively throughout the United States and Europe. During this period of his life, he focused on remixing music for family and friends and was never out of the loop when it came to the pulse of the underground sound of New York City.

In 2005, no longer traveling, Eduardo began manipulating music once again, this time, as a performer under the moniker “zenmonk” employing Ableton Live in his sets. He doesn’t view himself as a traditional DJ, just beat matching tracks - he now employs the cutting edge of available technology to get the crowd moving on the dance floor. Such technology has enabled him to be more spontaneous when playing out.
