I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and for those in the U.S., a wonderful holiday weekend.
This morning was so wonderful, I have to share it (Meara & I were visiting my folks at Isabella Lake):
I love kayaking through the shallows and the marshes, listening to the birds and watching the fish jump - away from the rumble of the cars on the highway, away from the buzz of speed boats & jet skis, and away, even, from the chatter of the fishermen & (drunk ?) tourists. Mom and I saw a flock of at least twenty Blue Heron on their trip this morning. It was fantastic!
I sometimes need to be reminded just how relaxing paddling across the lake can be. If I had high blood pressure (I don't; I'm usually on the low side), the kayaking this morning would definitely have lowered to a healthy level. I recommend kayaking for just that purpose. Shoot, I recommend kayaking for absolutely no purpose at all other than to enjoy time on the lake.
Hey Jennifer! ComicCon is Jul 23-26th. There are some preview events on the 22nd if you've bought the pass for them. Lots of us will be there - Me, Bawdy Wench, Meara, KJ, Kelly and her husband .... should be a blast!
Oh and btw Lori: Saw New In Town. No Nathan whatsoever. In fact this character is never even hinted at. And it wasn't the greatest movie, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that they didn't use him! The DVD says it had deleted scenes but I don't own it or anything, so I don't know if he shows up in them or not. =)
Jeez, I leave for a couple of months, and there isn't even a welcome back committee to meet when I come back?! *sniff* *sniff* Alright no biggie *sniff*
Anyways... how have you all been? Real life got really crazy for me there for awhile but I'm trying to get the hang of it!
I hear Comic Con is gonna be a real treat with a Dr.Horrible Screening and with the Commentary too!! =) Who's going again?!? I wish I could make it, but I'm still broke from the Salute trip! (Actually I'm still paying off the Salute trip)
Can't possible come to visit without bringing treats... please enjoy responsibly... and by that I mean, leave me some Nathan! =)
In case you haven't seen this trailer, it's FAN MADE, but still utterly believable and very very cool.
Nathan Fillion gives two thumbs up to Jaron Pitts — “I LOVE THIS! This guy rocks!” — for his impressive Green Lantern trailer that borrows from nearly 30 movies, movie teasers and television shows (including Planet of the Apes, Star Trek and, of course, Firefly and Serenity).
... For “Ghostbusters III” to work, any
male additions would have to be funny yet low-key. No one who’s
mind-blowingly attractive would fit, nor someone with a name so big
it’s distracting. While I think most Judd Apatow regulars would be
disastrous choices for these reasons (except the mind-blowingly
attractive part), Paul Rudd could be the exception. He’s so
down-to-earth and beloved that no one could object to the casting, and
his often sarcastic personality would be perfect for this project. His
buddy, Jason Segel, might work too, but before the casting director
gives Segel a call, he/she better make sure Nathan Fillion is on the roster. Dude’s a double threat: He’s got the sci-fi
credentials from “Firefly”/“Serenity” and the comedic experience from
“Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” It isn’t easy to hold your own
against Neil Patrick Harris, but Fillion played against him hilariously
as Captain Hammer. I have the utmost faith that he could shine just as
bright with comedic legends like Aykroyd and Bill Murray.
