EX MEMORIA is a short film project with an outreach programme supported by The Wellcome Trust.
It is being distributed widely to the UK care community and is relevant to all those working in the areas of dementia and alzheimer study and care. The film comes with a study pack specially written to assist carers.
In addition, the film will be shown publically through film festivals, TV and other media.
The fifteen-minute film takes us into a day in the life of Eva, putting us face to face with one person's experience of old age and dementia. It boldly forces us to face her lived reality as she moves in and out of the momentary, the half-remembered, the partly imagined. We watch as her trouble past returns to haunt the present.
Starring Olivier-award winning actress Sara Kestelman and rising star Natalie Press (My Summer Of Love), brought to you by award-winning writer-director Josh Appignanesi (Song Of Songs) and Oscar-winning producer Mia Bays (Six Shooter), EX MEMORIA makes us think afresh about memory, aging, care and dementia, encompassing the tragedy and the warmth of one woman's unique story.

I have not seen the film yet but plan on ordering the DVD. Thank you for making people aware. I lost my mother last July after more than 10yrs with this awful disease....I cared for her 5 yrs!
