Erin Kelly and Katherine Brooks made an experimental short film years ago when they were work shopping "Loving Annabelle". The short film is called "Finding Kate". It was a very personal story for Katherine, a story she never expected anyone to see. Word got around about Finding Kate when the Loving Annabelle hype started. So, the filmmakers decided to share it with others.

Growing up, I lived in a small town in Louisiana and hated it. I never fit in and all I wanted to do was run away. My cousin Victoria had done it. I had never met her, but I heard stories about her. She lived on a boat with her husband and they sailed from country to country. I use to day dream about what it must be like to have that kind of freedom. And what it must be like to be her.
It was a family wedding. She showed up, unexpected. I had never seen a more beautiful person in my life. My only thought for the night we spent together, the night you are about to see, is maybe, just maybe, shell take me with her -- away from here.
My friend and producer, Arun Vir, was pitching a series called, The Virgin Memoirs, and asked me if I had any stories about women losing their virginity. The only story I had was mine. So, I wrote Finding Kate. She wanted to take the writing and include it in her pitch. I suggested we get some friends together and make a little movie, just for fun and practice.
Well, years later -- here is it. I'm so glad to be able to share it with others.
