- Feijah’N is a Neo Soul Artist… Singer, composer, actor, presenter and producer, model and entrepreneur. He is born in the Penha, Rio de Janeiro. He moved with the family for the City of God, when he had 1 year of age. He there passed infancy in of a very musical environment, and among 5 years age he initiated touching bongô, in the wheels of Samba and Serestas by yours parents, ‘Paulo and Dona Guiomar’, in the CDD, Cidade de Deus (City of God). He is nephew of Sidney da Conceição, and great-grandson of Benedita Eduardo Dos Santos, an Angolan who was enslaved in Brazil.
Sidney is a great composer of the successes and founder of the Estácio de Sá (before São Carlos) in 1955, ' Sidney da Conceição' , partner of Luiz Ayrão until the decade of 80 ', and composer of 'Os Amantes' , recorded music for the singer ‘sertanejo’, Daniel, enclosed in the AMERICA novel of the Rede Globo, in 2005. He was artist of the recorder " BMG Ariola" from Brazil, belonging to the vocal group " Touch Down" , during 1996-7; however before already Feijah’N gives to beginning the alone career composing in Slam Poetry, style that he is the pioneer in Brazil - since 1988, and during this period wrote many musics that had later come to be part of its repertoire. He produced and co-ordinated the first Brazilian competition in level of Miss Brazil, according to with criticize of the time, “A Beleza Desce O Morro”, carried through for the ‘Objetiva Eventos’ in partnership with the FAVERJ, for come community girls to be discovery, in 1991. He was model of the Banana's agency, a French branch office (BR). He presented and it directed the "Na Pressão" , propagated for the TV Brasil (2002-3) in the program “ATITUDE.com”. There it carried through the projects and parties Cool Jam', before Slow Jam', (97-2002); “Hip-Hop Chapa Quente' (2003-4); It created the concept and featuring Black Bossado' in 2002. - Feijah’N é um artista neo soul do Brasil.
Nasceu no bairro da Penha, Rio de Janeiro.
Desenvolveu um estilo próprio, o TeorDoGroove, ao fazer a fusão da MPB (Samba/Chorinho), com a black music (Soul/Jazz/Funky/Hip-Hop), Música clássica e Afro, Literatura de Cordel e Slam Poetry.
É cantor, compositor, ator, apresentador, produtor, e pesquisador. Quando estava com um ano de idade a sua família foi morar na CDD, Cidade de Deus. Lá ele cresceu num ambiente muito musical, aprendendo a tocar bongô com cinco anos de idade, enquanto participava das rodas de Samba e Serestas realizadas por seus pais, ‘Paulo e Dona Guiomar’.
É bisneto de Benedita Eduardo dos Santos, uma angolana ex-escrava no Brasil, e sobrinho de 'Sidney da Conceição', compositor e fundador da Estácio de Sá (antes São Carlos) em 1955.
Até as décadas de 70’ e 80’, ‘Sidney’ formou parceira com Luiz Ayrão, compondo entre muitos sucessos a música 'Os Amantes', que foi gravada também em 2005 pelo cantor sertanejo Daniel, sendo também tema de um personagem na novela AMÉRICA, da Rede Globo.
Durante 1996-7, Feijah’N pertenceu ao ‘cast’ da gravadora "BMG Ariola" (BR), integrando o grupo vocal "Touch Down". Porém, já em 1988 iniciou em carreira solo, compondo músicas, e poesias de ‘literatura de cordel’ e ‘Slam Poetry’. As músicas e o material poético desse período passaram a ser incluídos em suas apresentações. Uma dessas foi em 1990, no CCBB (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil) do Largo do Tanque, em Jacarepaguá. Onde artistas da CDD e de outros bairros fizeram vernissage e performances. Entre esses artistas se encontrava o poeta e escritor, Paulo Lins. Que na ocasião estava escrevendo o “Livro Cidade de Deus”.
Feijah’N trabalhou como modelo na agência Banana’s, uma filial francesa no Brasil. Fez parte do grupo de teatro da ABI (Associação Brasileira de Imprensa), liderado por André Redine e Nelson Rodrigues Filho.
Produziu e Coordenou em 1991 o concurso “A Beleza Desce O Morro”, realizado pela Objetiva Eventos em parceria com a FAVERJ. Sendo esse o primeiro concurso brasileiro ao nível do “Miss Brasil”, segundo as criticas da época, voltado para descobrir meninas de comunidade.
Em 1992 o produtor César percebendo os bons resultados obtidos por Feijah’N no concurso “A Beleza Desce O Morro”, o convida para produzir os Eventos e Bailes do projeto “Charme na Rua”, em baixo do Viaduto Negrão de Lima. Conhecido como o DUTÃO de Madureira!
Após o falecimento de César, o seu irmão Celso Athayde assume a organização das atividades. E em 1997 Feijah’N passa a produzir com ‘Athayde’ os shows dos Racionais MC’s, MV Bill e Sampa Crew, no Rio de Janeiro, usando a rádio ‘RPC e ‘Rádio Cidade’ como parceiros de mídia. Feijah’N então faz contato com o jornalista Fernando Moreno, do jornal “POVO”, que abre o caminho para uma maior divulgação dos Racionais MC’s. Nessa ocasião surge uma oportunidade de abrir a filial da gravadora Zâmbia (SP) no Rio de Janeiro, e distribuir os álbuns antigos dos “Racionais MC’s”, que logo atingem boas vendas nas lojas menores e de departamento. O resultado foi que em 1998, a marca de venda do CD ‘Sobrevivendo no Inferno’ chegou a cem mil cópias vendidas, antes mesmo de sair da fábrica. Um bom resultado do know-how e campanha de distribuição e marketing realizada por Feijah’N na Zâmbia Rio!
Surgiria então o fenômeno, e o boom do Hip-Hop nacional, com os “Racionais MC’s” ganhando o prêmio de audiência pela MTV Brasil. Só naquele ano, foram vendidas 500 mil cópias do álbum “Sobrevivendo no Inferno” em todo o país.
Pela Zâmbia foram distribuídos também artistas do samba e pagode: O grupo ‘Soweto’ (lançamento, com o cantor Belo ainda sendo o vocalista), ‘Negritude Junior’ (reedição do primeiro álbum da banda), e o grupo Pixote (lançamento) e muitos outros.
Feijah’N foi também um dos artistas empreendedores responsáveis pelo sucesso da Lapa. Onde lá, a partir da década de 90 realizou os projetos e festas ‘Cool Jam’, antes ‘Slow Jam’ (97-2002); ‘Hip-Hop Chapa Quente’ (2003-4); o conceito e featuring ‘Black Bossado’ (2002).
Na televisão apresentou e dirigiu o quadro “Na Pressão!". Veiculado pela TV Brasil, em 2002-3, no programa “ATITUDE.com”.
E a partir de 2003 deu início à concepção neo soul brasileira que dá nome a seu show, desde então, e ao álbum que sairá em breve... TDG – ‘TeorDoGroove’!
Feijah’N lançou o single da música “Sangue Negro”, que tem a participação do ator Leandro Firmino, em texto de Poema Slam.
O jovem Kdu do Bandw é parceiro de composições e produção. E também é o band- leader da banda de apoio do Feijah’N.
