Meanwhile on the other side of town . . .

Dave Kusworth began making his musical mark in the late seventies punk scene with TV Eye (who released material on Rough Trade) and has continued to record and perform ever since. A member of The Dogs D'mour around the time of their intial release 'The State We're In', Kusworth soon moved on to form The Jacobites with ex-Swell Maps innovator Nikki Sudden (a collaboration of kindred spirits that would continue until Suddens premature death in 2006). Alongside and outside The Jacobites, Kusworth signed to Creation records with his band The Bounty Hunters and after their demise continued to record for the label as a solo artist. The Jacobites have had recordings licensed to the legendary BOMP! label in the USA where their talent has been recognised by Evan Dando/Mercury Rev, both of whom have covered Jacobites songs.
"He's mine and Alan McGee's and Bobby Gillespie's favourite songwriter and he has never really had much recognition. If you ask some American bands, they'll say 'Oh, dave Kusworth, he's brilliant!'
Joe Foster, Co-founder, Creation records, NME
Dave Kusworth plays a rare one off solo show for FictionNonFiction at Tiger Lounge in Manchester on Sun.26th April. See link below for tickets:
