This is one of the most important elections in the history of The United States of America.
So here's a five-step democracy plan to help make sure that you (AND your family AND your friends) get your freedom-loving American butts into the voting booth by November 4th (and beyond):
(1) Find Five Voters Who Will Vow to Vote.
If you have to, guilt-trip them into it!
(Starting with yourself, of course).
(2) Photograph Each Voter Taking a Vow to Vote.
Simply print out our paper-sized poster. Then have them hold up the iamonevote poster with one hand while making the heroic FiveVoters.com pledge with their other hand.
I am one vote.
And my vote counts.
So, come rain or shine,
I vow to vote on (or before)
November 4th, 2008 (and beyond)
to try to IMPROVE SOMETHING
(instead of making things worse).
Duh.
I also vow to at least THINK about the many
benefits of getting five other thoughtful voters
to actually take this Five Voters Vow.
Again, if you have to, guilt-trip them into it!
(3) Post Your Five Pictures!
Publish your (five) voter-vowing picture(s) in our myspace comments or post them one at a time as you get them.
If you don't have a myspace account yet, you can send us your photo links by email to pix@5voters.com.
Also, upload them to your own myspace pages and/or your other blogs and websites, AND anywhere and everywhere else that it'll have any chance at all of encouraging other voters to do the same and vow to vote!
(4) Repeat the process with another five voters.
Do this five-step American democracy action as many times as you can manage, every single day, until November 4th (and beyond) -- but definitely do it at least once!
(5) Celebrate on November 5th (and beyond)
Keep checking VoterParty.com for details.
That's all there is to it.
Thank you so much for supporting and participating in the FiveVoters.com iamonevote.com campaign! You've done your country proud (and your world).
MustReadBloggers. com is searching the blogosphere for the best blogs and bloggers out there -- reviewing websites, products, people, and everyday life.
We invite you to enjoy our informative, ever-evolving, entertaining postings while adding your own comments to make them even better yet!
Know any great blogs, bloggers, musicians, entrepreneurs, inventors, humorists, or other interesting sources of betterment?
To guard against you (and your friends) getting complacent and deciding not to bother to go to the polls on election day (figuring it's gonna be a landslide), why not take a photographic Vow to Vote (and get five other voters to do the same)!
You wouldn't break a vow, now, would you?
That's the whole point.
BONUS: You'll be encouraging others to vote!
(therefore, even those of you who have voted early have a good reason to post photos!)
It's a shame that the youtube video glitches out more often than it actually works because it's a wonderful a cappella version of America the Beautiful.
