  • Bio

Flow Theory is an experiment in music. It is a wholehearted attempt to bring forth a timeless feel. It is a sound that is simultaneously in the moment, as well as on the edge of what's to come. It is a communication of sound and soul. Flow Theory is a four-piece band; brothers Zev, Nash, and Eli handle Vocals, Guitar, and Drums, respectively. Avi (no relation) plays Bass Guitar. The inspiration for the band's sound and attitude comes from the festivals that changed their approach to music. There are no boundaries to the music Flow Theory plays. The band's strength comes from the interplay between the four members, the unity of their feeling for music and diversity of their influences. Genres including Rock, Reggae, Funk, Dubstep, and Dance are blended together as the line between Jam and Song are blurred. Improvisation interweaves with lovingly crafted songs to create a coherent, compelling sound that is always evolving. Flow Theory had an exciting 2010, playing several festivals in the Midwest over the year including a featured performance at Peace Fest Chicago and Flow Theory's own inaugural PurimFest. The band's emerging fanbase has driven them to debut this year at such esteemed local landmarks of the Chicago music scene as Logan Square Auditorium, The Double Door, and The Kinetic Playground. Flow Theory has also opened for high-profile acts such as The Wailers, Slightly Stoopid, and Primus, and performed in Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The band has also been committed to philanthropic efforts from square one, and has played successful benefits for non-profit organizations. Flow Theory has recently returned from hiatus with headline performances at Reggie's Rock Club and The Store.
