This is a limited edition release, on special color-splash vinyl; each band has two songs on their side, and all tracks were mastered for vinyl by the legendary Rodney Mills (he's worked on all sorts of stuff for all kinds of folks, from Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special, to Rage Against The Machine and Stone Temple Pilots, to George Clinton), so it really sounds awesome.

Who is FOXFIRE?
Foxfire has played shows with great bands like Dixie Witch, Throttlerod, Lust, Backwoods Payback, Gore Gore Girls, Catfight, Black Tusk, Christine, The Dumps, and many others. In Atlanta they’ve played a strip club (the world-famous Clermont Lounge), a Rollergirls benefit, a community festival at historic Findley Park in Little Five Points, a biker festival in Underground Atlanta, and many of the clubs that bands like Mastodon, Nashville Pussy, and Artimus Pyledriver played (and still play) when they were on their way up. Additionally, they have played in Athens GA; Chattanooga, Johnson City, and Bristol TN; Wilmington, Greensboro NC; and Spartanburg SC. Their music has been described as “stoner punk rock”, with straightforward riffs and a distinct, loud ‘n heavy power trio sound. Rachel’s gritty/sweet vocals are a perfect complement to her grinding guitar and the driving rhythm section of bassist Stephen and his wife Kris (who also sings) on drums. Their no-nonsense live performances are always high-energy and fun, and the band leaves the crowd wanting more, every time. Nobody has a bad time at a Foxfire show!
Currently Foxfire is taking a little time away from the stage to work on some new material; look for more shows in Spring 2009. Who knows? There may even be a bit of touring in Summer 2009...
UPDATE Foxfire is back!! They're doing a few shows in Georgia and Florida over the next few weeks, and much more planned for this summer. They are still knee-deep in work on a new album, which will be released next year, and they'll be working the new tunes into the sets as they go along (so just about any time you see them this year, there's a good chance they'll play something you've never heard them play before).
And while they still have the same basic "Foxfire" sound--you know, that traditional "stoner punk rock" sound!--they have evolved a bit aurally...their sound is now much meaner, but far from leaner. No longer satisfied with his 600-watt/2-cabinet bass rig, Stephen now uses a 1,000-watt/3-cabinet monster to get his message across. Rachel has added another 4x12 to her set-up as well, and Kris has acquired some vicious red Vistalites, that thump and boom and crack like nobody's business...it's kind of like Foxfire on overdrive now! Rest assured that if Foxfire is playing near you--the admission is worth the price.
