This is not an impersonation. This is Frank Barbato a self taught vocalist singing the legendary sounds of Frank Sinatra and others.
Frank started performing with a local church drama group about five years ago.He has appeared in Godspell and Narnia. Since then he has also performed at several local Festivals and clubs in Upstate New York. Just a little history on Frank: He was born and raised in Rochester, New York and is named after his grandfather, a mason from Bari Italy. Incidentally Frank is a shirt tail cousin to Nancy (Barbato) Sinatra, Frank Sinatra's first bride. Its said that Frank Barbato's grandfather and Nancy Sr's father { Michael Barbato} were cousins that worked together. Its no secret that Nancy Sinatra Sr. had a great influence on Frank Sinatra's life and music. You might say music was as much a part of Nancy's life as it was of Frank Sinatra's at one time. With that in mind could the influence of the Barbato Family have inspired yet another young Frank? Or could it have been the touch of Actor Peter Lawford (former"Rat Packer") that inspired this new voice. Back in the 60's when Frank was just a baby, his mom took him for a walk past Silver Stadium near thier city home. When she arrived at the stadium she saw a motorcade lined up in the street. She then saw Peter Lawford exit the stadium. Just as he was about to enter one of the cars she yelled out, "Mr. Lawford please take a picture with my baby"! (Lawford was in Rochester, New York campaigning for JFK) Reporter/Photographer Joe Pell snapped the shot of Peter Lawford and a young Frank Barbato cheek to cheek. Then Mr. Lawford kissed Frank and handed him back to his mother. Coincidence or Fate, who knows? What we do know is when you hear the sound of this talented young singer you will know there has been a connection of some kind. We think you will agree no other voice out there today in the style of Sinatra has the sound or "history" like Frank Barbato's.
Performing mostly upstate in Rochester and Buffalo New York, Frank's recent performance at the Las Vegas Hilton continues to gain him notoriety across the country.
Frank performs live with other musicians, and sings to instrumental tracks using state of the art equipment which simulates the sound of a live orchestra.
