FunkaRecords is a brand new Indie label currently establishing a home in Gainesville, FL. "Music that needs to be heard" - the company motto simply expresses the type of music represented. We are not genre bias by any means, and personally enjoy many different sounds/styles of music. The two "requirements" for a FunkaRecords artists is that they are pushing the musical envelope and keepin it FUNKY!
FunkaRecords is set apart from many other record labels because of our dedication to the artists. Being musicians ourselves, we know what it's like to create and perform regularly. The last thing any artist wants is some "big wig" telling them how to create their music. We want to encourage artists to produce the sound they want to express. This is why we make it policy to stay out of the creative process of our artists. We do, however, make a point to be as involved as possible to insure that our partnership is a positive one.
