Long Island, New York
"I think I'm qualified to say this...These guys are the best new band to come out of the Island in a while. If I were a betting man, I would bet the farm on them following the foot steps of TBS (Taking Back Sunday), BN (Brand New), Glassjaw, Movielife, Envy [on the Coast], and all the other Long Island bands that give Long Island a national identity."
-Christian McKnight, The Bamboozle Festival, Live Nation
"Gabriel the Marine has a sound like no other...they are the calm before the storm, the belief of not Emo, but multi-paced genrification. Absolutely one of the best finds in this year's Indie of the Year."
- MUSIC EMISSIONS
Gabriel the Marine is a Long Island Indie band that incorporates unique classical violin and jazzy vocals, hinting the accessibility and catchiness of a mature pop band while being headed by 18 and 19 year olds. In six months, the band has released their first demo, been featured frequently on KRock (92.3 FM), landed a spot on the 2009 Bamboozle Festival, and was featured in Spin Magazine's Top "15 Bands You Must-Hear Bands" at the Bamboozle Festival. They have recently recorded a record with Mike Watts and VuDu Studios (As Tall As Lions, The Almost, Self Against City, As Cities Burn) and intends on touring nonstop in support of it. Check them out on myspace at myspace.com/gabrielthemarine
Stay tuned for their i-Tunes release, their new music video(s), a new myspace layout, more shows, relentless touring, and of course more music. Their next album is dropping Summer 2009.
