About me:
Dear Friends,
I would like to thank everyone who voted for a change in direction in New Jersey by voting for Green Party candidates in Camden County. Although the Green Party candidates did not win any of our races, we will continue working in our communities to improve the quality of life for the residents of Camden County and to improve our democracy in New Jersey. As members of the community and a grassroots organization, we appreciate your support in voting for us. I would like to remind everyone that our party and our candidates do not accept any contributions from corporations. This is our pledge to ensure that we represent the people of the community. Due to this policy, and state laws that suppress alternative political parties from being recognized as an “official” parties, including the Green PArty, we are dependent on support from the community (eg. Volunteers and small donations.) Without your support, the Green Party could not compete with the established parties that get huge financial contributions from public contractors and corporations.
Being a Green Party candidate was a great experience for me and I appreciate everyone who expressed their concerns to me. I would also like to thank everyone who supported my campaign. Without that support, I would not have done as well as I did. This race provided an opportunity for Green Party candidates to publicly express alternative solutions to some long-standing problems in our state. Moving forward from here, it is essential that the people of our communities stay involved and hold our elected officials accountable for the decisions they make on our behalf.
There are many opportunities to be involved in the decision-making process other than being an elected official. These include involvement with civic associations, township and county boards and committees and activist organizations. Furthermore, the Green Party is looking for ways to improve in future elections. In sum, we need your help and involvement. Please attend our meetings on the 1st Thursday of every month at 7pm at the Collingswood Public Library.
