Armed with a spine tingling voice, lyrical depth, and melodies that never leave your side, this young songwriter has nothing but a bright future ahead of him in the music he creates. Geoffrey J. has been influenced from the work of such industry legends as John Lennon, Bob Dylan, and Lou Reed and applied them to a collection of music that instantly qualifies him as one of the most dynamic and mature songwriters to emerge in recent memory.
Born in Tucson, Arizona, Geoffrey wrote vocal melodies and stories as a child. As an adolescent he began teaching himself various instruments, writing poetry, and acquiring the skills of songwriting. After experimenting with drums, piano and other instruments and demonstrating an ability to learn them in a short period of time, Geoffrey became focused on the acoustic guitar, harmonica, and his vocal performance. Understanding that not only writing original music would help him grow a career in music but finding the right musicians to help him bring his songs to life in a live performance was the ultimate goal. Geoffrey decided to focus on finding musicians who were blues-toned seasoned professionals. In April of 2006, he met this great circle of blues musicians at "Pennington Place", a rehearsal studio in downtown Tucson.
Matt Meza, bassist, honed his skills as First Chair in the Tucson Symphony at the young age of 15. Matt has been a classically trained musician since the age of 6 and is a multi-instrumentalist. Besides bass Matt plays the violin, piano, drums, classical guitar and sax. He has done session work and toured with artist such as Barry Sparks, Dokken, Ted Nugent, Jackson Browne, and Alan Parsons.
Randy Farris started his drumming career off by playing with the "JR. Serenades" a California based big-band ensemble created in 1969, the greatest year in rock and roll. This group of young musicians (ages 10-15) hand-picked from all over California, played the Rotary club and Hollywood premier scene. Randy has also worked has a studio musician in Los Angeles for several years and eventually made his way to Tucson where he is now part of one of the most experienced rhythm sections in Arizona.
Steve Conn fell in love with the guitar when he was eight years old. He was in his first band as the lead guitar player at the age of ten. His passion for the guitar led him to take private lessons from over twenty different instructors, and complete the summer sessions program at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Los Angeles California in 1983. Steve is an experienced, versatile guitarist and has performed in a wide range of musical styles including Pop, Rock, R & B, Latin, and Smooth Jazz. Songwriting and performing has been the center of his music career for the last twenty years, and he is thrilled to be a part of this music and this band.
