AN EXPERIMENT IN NO-BUDGET ZINESPLOITATION!
If ya ask me, the essence of true rock' n' roll is that of youth and all the things that go along with it. Things like sex, crime, bubblegum, and trouble. has this spirit been lost? "Them's were the days", they say.
Well, some people never grow up, and this zine is made just for those people. People like you and me! That wild child thread is none more evident than in the 1st generation of rock 'n' roll (40s/50s/60s) and this zine will be coverin' everything you're flaming heart goes pittity-pitter-padder for that may not be covered in your usual run-of-the-mill rag. While we're at it, we'll touch on other stuff like movies (the kinds with guns and girls), pulp paperbacks (all the nitty gritties between the covers!), and whatever else we can think up! So maybe this is a zine less about rock 'n' roll plus other stuff and more so a zine about the culture of 'cool'. either way, it's the most!
Sure, in this day and age, to put out any sort of publication instead of a BLAUG (did I spell that right?) seems like bank account suicide, but there's a charm that comes with these things. Don't you remember waiting for your favorite magazine to finally hit the shelves of your local store and, when it did, you held it with an excitement that left you crinkling the pages? I sure do. I remember frothing at the mouth waiting for that new issue of Rue Morgue or Thrasher Magazine to finally be mine! Sure it's cheaper to just sign up with some website-of-the-week and type your thoughts for everyone (or the few other lonely saps, depending on how attractive your profile picture is) to read, but this is a zine to read on the go! We like it fast, baby, fast! This is the rag that you keep rolled up in your back pocket while you're stealin' hubcaps or skippin' school! You sure can't cram a laptop into your back pocket, now can ya, Jack??
So, if you can't take the heat, toss this on to the nearest bad seed who can, but if the fast pace of this publication feels just your speed...then we're glad ta have ya! So put on your favorite 45, eat your greasy chicken, wash it down with a bottle of Thunderbird, and strap in. I got a feelin' you're 'bout ta GET DORKED!
