Leap Of Face
CD Review
Australian Guitar Magazine issue no.57
Jan. 2007
"THE Satriani of the South, Perth guitarist Graham Greene defied the odds (namely a shoulder injury and nerve damage in his hand) to put together this brilliant album, all instrumental bar ’Fire In Your Liberty’, which features his wife Donna on vocals. As for the rest, Greene plays every instrument.
Mixing soaring melodic ’80s-style lead with frenzied tapping, neo-classical displays of fret-wizardry ("Hell And Bach"), stabbing harmonics and talk box ("Vowels Of The Earth"). Greene travels with flair and grace through a variety of styles, from ’ballads’ to metal and blues ("CJ’s Blues"), and comes out the other side a certified rock god."
Musician, Husband, Father, Son, Player of songs, Dreamer of dreams... I play guitar, write music, design websites and graphic art, read a lot, make a wicked avocado seafood entree, and hardly ever watch television. All the gory details are on my website.
Wyrd Ways Rock Show is now up. Bit of a remembrance vibe to this one. Not only for fallen military, but also for Mike Alexander. The show features an interview with two members of Evile, conducted by Alexander Milas of Metal Hammer. In Shock Of The New this week, you'll be hearing from Shudderwall, Francis Soto, Daisy Cutter, Thaurorod and Morphine Killer.
As usual, if you want to get in touch with me to ask for a song, contribute a Lie Back And Enjoy It, suggest a band for Shock Of The New (including your own!) or start a new round of The Connection, click on the Contact Form link on the homepage. Remember I also want photos of you to go in the Listeners Gallery and Miss Wyrd Ways Rock Show. Send your shots to mail@wyrdwaysrs.com.
JUST WANNA SAY HI & HOPE UR OK.......... THANK U 4 THE ADD!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVE A GREAT ROCIN WEEK-END!!!!!!!!!! HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS KISSSSSSSSSES ALL MY LOVE 2 YA!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE FANTASY
No biggie, I was like a headless chicken around that time from being so busy so I probably wouldn't have been able to anyway... Next time for sure, and maybe a jam, since I finally have a new guitar now... Loving it, but needs a set up and my hands (not fingers) have been sore as of late. Maybe I'll have an Ormsby of my own then, but who knows, I'm not looking at getting customs made for a while, and through who... Never know. Right now, I'm just thinking of finding my voice on the instrument, so I can develop it and continue to develop it for the rest of my life... I finaly get it, it's not an end-result, it's a process... Amen lol.
Thanks for the birthday wish and Happy Birthday to you to champ, since we share the same birthday if I remember correctly. Hope you have an awesome day.
Miss the last Autopsy Report Radio Show featuring Graham Greene? Well fear not because you can listen to it RIGHT NOW at the Autopsy Report MySpace page. Alternatively you can go to Vicious Enterprises and download a higher bit rate version.
It's an honor to have met you. I visited my own sisters site and found you. I was amazed by your skills. I've been blessed to have worked with some of Australias hottest muso's like Jake Lardot and Peter Northcote, etc. etc. Jake is currently touring with Lee Kernaghan. Jake played guitar on the RNA Project, Jake an I have spent many years writing. Thank god for today's technology, we are all able to unite as musicians and song writers to collaborate into projects unseen and unheard of back only 10 Years ago. Thank you again for the friendship and hope that we might be able to put some serious studio tracks together soon. I also Produced, Played Bass. keyboards, programming, MD'd and mixed all the ABBAMNAIA and RNA Project stuff. www.myspace.com/rnaproject and www.myspace.com.abbamaniacs
ABBAMANAIA was fun but now I'm writing stuff that definately has your name on it.
Great Playing and tunes Graham! Thanks for the comment. Most people on myspace are only in their own space inbetween their ears. Keep up the great work! big love, Cat
Oh by the way...there is something I shouldve said to you a long time ago.
Although we lost touch over the years I do appreciate the contact we did have. I enjoyed every moment I spent chatting with you and watching you perform.
You definately are solid gold Graham. Not just a great musician but also a top bloke.
