About Greg Youngman Music
I engineer all of my recordings. I play all of the instruments on my recordings. I can do the same for you, either in the studio or remote session tracks via the Internet. Check my website for details regarding recording/mixing, mastering, audio tape restoration/archiving and transferring to CD. Feel free to contact me about pricing.

• Vocals/harmonies
• Acoustic guitar
• Electric guitar/slide guitar
• Bass
• Drums/percussion
• Piano/keyboards (lots of vintage keyboards available)
• Voice over (male & female available)

CD mastering - for an open sound, detailed and dynamic, but still competitive in terms of loudness without sacrificing the musical integrity. It's all about serving the song.

Film cues and themes - Film scoring. Grab some "easy to license" cues and themes. TV and video clients are also welcome.

Oh yeah... and don't sell your CDs and crap from my comment area unless you're one of my clients!

"I started playing piano at 5. My Mom walked me down to a Sears store that we lived close to. It was raining. There was a guy playing a huge steam calliope that was on a large truck trailer in the parking lot. He was playing “Singing In The Rain”. That monster sounded wonderful. We stood there for what seemed to be all day. We were soaked. I went back home and taught myself that song on the piano. I've been playing, writing and recording music ever since. I started recording at 12 years old (1965). After hanging around this guy’s studio for a while, he let me adjust the mixing pots and press “record”. It was a 3-track studio. He had an Ampex 300 - 3 track, a couple of Ampex 350 2 tracks, a Langevin/Fairchild board and an RCA cutter. He had a nice Telefunken U-47M (long body), Neumann U-47s, M-50s, U-67s, KM-53s, RCA 44s, 77s. He taught me how to place the microphones, record at the proper levels, how to edit tape and cut an acetate record. After that, I brought some bands in to record and he allowed me to engineer the whole session… after all, I was bringing him in some business. I’ve been hooked ever since. I feel very fortunate to have developed a clientèle who appreciate what I do and are looking for something they can't get anywhere else. I give credit to my ears."

Great meeting you too Greg. Nice to know there is some great talent up your way.
It's been wonderful working with Bob Summers. You might have another influence in this town where I live. Chris Darrow ? Another great multi-instrumentalist recording engineer and producer.
If I ever get up your way I will give you a jingle and if you are down in So Cal, look me up and I'll get you in touch with Bob. Take Care, Ed

Hi Greg--

In case you know anybody who might be interested: I'm offering Songwriting Lessons at Jensen Guitar in Santa Maria. Individual weekly sessions, tailored to your level of expertise. Got some unfinished songs? Dust them off and let's work on them. Never written songs? That's OK, let's get started.

Thanks--SK

PS--My next Santa Maria showcase is Feb. 2 at Moodybrews, with SLO award-winners Don Lampson and Jade Jackson, plus Orcutt's own Michael Dougherty.
