   About Hudson Harding Music
TERRY HOLDER: "Ticket To The Moment"
On her third studio CD “Ticket To The Moment,” Terry Holder continues to explore her passions through her heartfelt and gutsy songs. The CD delivers her emotionally driven songs around lyrics that take you on a journey with flashes of abandon, heartbreak, love, social and self-awareness. Recorded in Seattle Washington and Anchorage Alaska she was joined in the studio by veteran musicians Freebo, Gary Shelton, Joel Tepp, Ben Smith, Jerry Holder, Cynthia Morrow, John Nyman and John Morton. She writes about basic human emotion with layers of meaning behind them. In her live performances, she has the undeniable ability to captivate and connect with her listeners through her words and music. Recognized for her talent as a songwriter Terry performed in 2008 at the Kerrville Folk Festival as a “New Folk Finalist.”

BARBARA GARRIEL: "Ample Patience"
pronounced “GA-ree-EL” (like Gabrielle, minus the B) | Singer-songwriter, Barbara Garriel is from New York. “Ample Patience” is her debut release. Barbara’s style is an eclectic blend of adult contemporary blues, country, and folk-rock, with a whole lot of heart and soul. The album is a compilation of songs about yearnings and desires, freedom and friendship, betrayal and found love. "Barbara writes smart, sassy, sexy, satirical songs that instantly grab the audience. Her voice is the voice of every woman. Her songwriting is without clutter and her voice effortlessly carries with it a lightness and joy that many of us have to spend years and years honing. " Joe Iadanza, Canvas Gallery

ZOE MULFORD: "Bonfires"
A set by songwriter Zoe Mulford is like a small volume of short stories - evocative, beautifully crafted, and endlessly varied. October 2009 sees the release of her third album, “Bonfires” on Azalea City Recordings. Celebrating folk traditions from Appalachia to Liverpool, the mix of original and traditional songs presents a cast of wayward ghosts, takers of chances, and practitioners of love against the odds. Recorded in the hills of Yorkshire by Brian Bedford (Artisan), “Bonfires” features musicians from both sides of the Atlantic, including English ceilidh fiddler Tom Fairbairn, Canadian bassist Al Parrish (Tanglefoot), Canadian-American percussionist Cheryl Prashker (RUNA) and members of the popular Manchester-based Dr. Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band.

DANA & SUSAN ROBINSON: "Big Mystery"
Dana and Susan Robinson: Big Mystery | Dana and Susan Robinson’s latest CD release, Big Mystery, sings of the enduring beauty and prolific life force that exists all around us. With their trademark guitar and mountain banjo pairing, Dana and Susan effortlessly blend contemporary material with an oldtime mountain attitude. Dana says about Big Mystery, “We sing about place and our innate connection with the landscape. These places have stories embedded in them that can teach us about who we are and why we are here.” Dana was a finalist in Kerrville new folk in 2000 and a finalist in the Mountain Stage new folk in 2003. His previous three albums have all charted in the top 5 on the Folk DJ charts.

David Franks: Walkabouts Verse

David Franks: Walkabouts Verse

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001

Where traditions are not so rare;
    Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
    Planted tubs and patterned pavements.

The longish pedestrian malls;
    The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
    Of the respect for heritage.

Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
    Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
    Romantic-ruin go-betweens.

Rivers in parts licked by trees,
    Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
    Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.

Fine churches headed at Durham;
    Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
    Masonry behind masonry.

And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
