"Hillbilly Prophet is probably the most unlikely artist you'll expect to hear in 2009...the band blends blues based rock n roll with modern sounding rock & elements of folk to boot...the guitar heavy songs are mildly retro in sound, it's stuff you're not likely to hear most artists on the scene today covering, & at the core of this cd, this band really captures the rawest essence of rock n roll...I'd call it an amped up version of the Rolling Stones if I had to describe it in one phrase. Tripp, the bands principal song writer/singer/guitarist, has played on the same stage as both Johnny Winter & Alice in Chains..how's that for diversity?!? Artistically, this is a very indulgent disc, there's nothing too commercial, no love songs, no sell outs, it's all rock n roll played from the heart!"
Hillbilly Prophet brings a component long missing in alternative /hard-rock/rockabilly/ blues fusions of late. This music is all of the above, and with grandeur, and true vocal eloquence, aligned with the kick ass emphasis of backbeat metal. The subject matter of lyrics and stories in the songs, isn’t your everyday stuff that most people sing about today. These songs are darker but with hope and meant to wake up the world, and make you think. Over the years, all the members of Hillbilly Prophet are seasoned players and have done music all their lives. It’s who they are. Tripp has been in many bands, and shared the stage with many stars and great musicians including, Johnny Winter, Ray Manzarek, Alice In Chains, Randy Castillo, Santana, and The B-52’s just to mention a few. Tripp himself has a world class voice, reminiscent of the Byrd’s' Gene Clark, to whom Michael Stipe was once compared at the very beginning of REM's career, with that same mournful but he-man strong quality with a slight catch in the throat. That's yer grandeur for ya. But Tripp is also the power behind the throne as guitarist and songwriter. Therefore the panoply of tune smithing worthy of some unholy Hank Williams/metal hybrid is the eloquence you'll find in all the material. Hillbilly Prophet is a pretty damn fine sounding experience that resonates importance from the get go with an unforgettable voice guiding a sure touch band with slide guitars and pounding beats. Hillbilly Prophet is a long winding road of life stories and experience from the past, present, and future guided by the beacon of ROCK N ROLL. The main idea and concept is to be different and original, unlike anything else, in music and lyric. Not an easy task, but mixing blues, hard rock, and a little punk, with the new lineup of Tripp, Johnny Ray on drums, Robin Johnson on guitar/vocals, and Steve Loizos on bass guitar/keyboards and vocals, Hillbilly Prophet has become the alternative hard rock blues band to see and hear. The live show is of the utmost importance, so stay tuned for upcoming shows and tours in your area!! www. myspace. com/hillbillyprophet

Happy Hump Day....take it easy and relax. ~tammie~
I know that the bridges that I've burned along the way have left me with these walls and these scars that won't go away and opening up has always been the hardest thing until you came So lay here beside me just hold me and don't let go this feelin' I'm feelin' is something I've never known and I just can't take my eyes off you and I just can't take my eyes off you I love when you tell me that I'm pretty when I just wake up and I love how you tease me when I'm moody but it's never too much I'm falling fast but the truth is I'm not scared at all You climbed my walls So lay here beside me just hold me and don't let go And Oh, this feelin' I'm feelin' is something I've never known and I just can't take my eyes off you and I just can't take my eyes off you
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone. I hope you had a beautiful weekend and have an even better week. Hugs and kisses. ~tammie~
