Musical Styles:
I am not bound by narrow minded concepts of music, I see a universe that stretches beyond my own imagination. I appreciate all forms of music except country, top forty, and bullshit bubble gum pop, I especially appreciate music based in and around Electronics, heavy percussive beats, and middle eastern and world influences. Primary musical passion from childhood to now: Classic Rock, Rockabilly, Punk, Ska, Punk, New Wave, Progressive House, Industrial, Techno, Electro, Drum and Bass, DubStep, Traditional Middle Eastern Music. As I got older I expanded my taste not to forget the past but embrace and build from past experiences. This is one reason my music is so diverse. I have so much passion for music that I don't tie my hands behind my back I let my mind fly and I create music... sometimes it's soft and will bring old ladies to tears - sometimes it's fresh and hip impressing the "coolest" club kids and sometimes it's hard core in your face expressing deep seeded feelings of concern for the world around us and our human race. It doesn't rain everyday so why should my music stay the same.
Sounds LikeHipnautica is a musical chameleon of sorts, seamlessly transcending, transmigrating, and cross-melding genres together with the intention of bringing people together in an open forum. We strive to create a new tone and are often referred to as "Dark World Electronic" a combination of dark somber tones, merged with various middle eastern, tribal and world influences.

It's our ultimate goal to share, with the world, an eclectic experience beyond music. Hipnautica performances are ultra-sensory experiences. We push boundaries and incorporate visuals, performance artists, theatrics, danceers, musical, lyrical, and spoken arts, often into seamless transitional productions. Constantly we explore new ideas around reoccuring themes... allowing new artists within our midsts and experimenting but always consistent with our intention to produce emotionally riveting material... ultimately to strengthen the core concept that is Hipnautica.

If you like any of the following Chemical Brothers, Thievery Corporation, Massive Attack, Nox Arcana, Dead Can Dance, Schpongle, Ministry, Cold Play, Moby, N.I.N, Front 242, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Ravi Shankar you will most likely find something within Hipnautica to appreciate.

   About Hipnautica

OUR OFFICIAL ONLINE CYANIGHT TOUR FLIER COVERING ALL CITIES:

AN OFFICIAL FLIER FROM NEW ORLEANS PAIN TRIBE:

OUR CYANIGHT TOUR begins in NEW ORLEANS on Wednesday August 12th thanks to the support of the HI HO LOUNGE, who've supported many up and coming bands as well as many established underground bands like our friend Bradley from CHANT. We will meet up and present VOODOO VELKRO (Atlanta) & DJ John Gomi (atx). Thanks to the support of PAIN TRIBE who will be performing with us we are proud to launch this momentous tour and release our first major CD, inspired by bands such as Front 242, KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - you know the old school industrial stuff that helped inspire EBM, Techno, and Trance for that matter. This new cd will dedicated to our past while looking towards the future. There will be a couple absolutely never recorded tracks as well - stuff not available on myspace.

New Orleans, has a bitter sweet spot for our crew because Tinkr and Sky both have family there and they lost alot during Katrina, Blue (drums) & Guymon Adams (guitars) were both ousted by the Bitch Katrina and met through Hipnautica 3 years later. While Hipnautica is not remotely considered a local to New Orleans group, this will still be a coming home for us on a few different levels. So we thank the PAIN TRIBE for welcoming us and performing with us at the Hi Ho Lounge on Wednesday night August 12th.

On August 13th we leave New Orleans to perform in Houston's premier underground dance club HAVOK at the Blue Door with Die Brücke thanks to the gracious support of DJ Naika.

OUR OFFICIAL FLIER FOR OUR AUSTIN CD RELEASE PARTY:

On August 14th we hit Austin and perform at our home ELYSIUM with VOODOO VELKRO, and long time friends SLEEP NOW YES plus since this is our home we have a bunch of DJ's that want to come out and throw down with us so we welcome Prophet, Void, and SubSpace Freakquency. Not to mention two very hot special guest Go Go Dancers: INFINITI & ACID QUEEN. Also we will extend $1 off with an ASSIMILATION wrist band.

On august 15th it's down south to San Antonio to hit our favorite underground club in San Antonio Club ATOMIX. We are not sure of the exact details yet but we know we will be performing with VOODOO VELKRO and SLEEP NOW YES.

We hope you will come out and join us for as many of these special events as possible, each will be different and unique to each city but all will be parties to remember.

"Check out our first official music video, released in March of 2009 during SXSWi at the Palmer Event Center and Elysium. Destination is Unknown is one of my oldest songs but revamped multiple times through the years. It speaks of my concern of over population, overcrowding, and consumption which leads to the eventual destruction of our humanity. I had forgotten about this song until a visit to China where the evidence is significantly higher due to the level of distance between the impoverished and the upper class, and the amount of trash and poor air quality. As bad as many think they have it here in the United States I have witness true distitution and starving poverty. I've traveled the world, I have friends in multiple countries and I recognize more than ever the impact we are all having across this planet. I've always felt we were all in this together but through the years I've learned to recognize this more than ever. I wrote these lyrics in the early 90's but they seem to ring more true today. Begin to repurpose, recycle, and reuse - save our environment and live a better life today ~sky"

TONIGHT LIVE VIDEO 2006
This live performance video was filmed in our early days featuring a song called Tonight during our first underground opera ATMEN, back in October of 2006. Due to be a live recording through the tiny mic on the camera it's starts out a little rough but we feel it tightened up enough and is worthy to present here. We were not perfect back in 2006... hell I'm not sure that we are perfect now... but being true our past this is what we have to show from some of our old early local shows. We hope you enjoy

We are deeply rooted in inspiration and follow tangents that do not always allow us to stay fixated within narrow minded genre classifications for this reason we appreciate our fans. Not even all our members fit within everything we do... this diversity and allowance for each other to be pure to our own inspiration allows our music to connect more deeply to the listener and allows our music to have a high degree of integrity. We despise isolationism - a closed mind is the source of all hatred, fear, and eventually war even through our angst we perfer a mind set of collaboration, fusion and working together to strengthen each other and the world around us. Hipnautica adapts to our audience while being true to ourselves as artists, we adapt to the venue while being true to our own inspiration, we adapt to our own performers while being true to our original intention. We invite your open mind to experience Hipnautica and we invite your feedback, opinion, comments, etc... "To live in a vaccuum is to die alone" ~sky - 2009.

Jun 17 2009 8:25 PM

Thanks so much for your nice comment.  We feel exactly the same.  Pay-to-play is a practice that exploits new/young musicians and will ruin the local scene for everybody.  It's unbelievable how many of these scam companies now operate.  Spreading the word is the best defense against it.   ...and by the way, you guys sound awesome!  Loved the video too!  Keep rockin'!

Hi,Sky!!!
Companion, sometimes people find that by their nature leave us amazed, and we have to ... or learn to live with the experiences offered by them.
The important as you know, is that this school that life also teaches us!
In relation to your music, liked to hear but can not open the player ...
I gotta fix my page, because they probably have problems.
Let's keep in touch, and everything good for you!
A big hug!
