I love to try anything advernturous. I'm into paintball, rock climbing, rappelling, scuba diving, cave exploringing, hiking, camping, white-water rafting, bungee jumping and anything else I can find that will feed the rush...

I'm always on the go, so my iPhone is always with me. Depending on my mood and location, I may listen to just about anything. Jogging along the lake? Metallica. Working on a crossword at 30,000 feet? Hans Zimmer (Gladiator). Feeling mellow? Damien Rice. Can't sleep? Beethoven. Hungry for fajitas? Shakira. Pissed at the world? Country music...
Movies
For me, there is nothing like sitting in a crowded theater and letting myself feed off of the collective emotions of those around me; hearing the glass break behind me, feeling the reverberations of the spaceship as it passes overhead, missing a heartbeat as the unseen evil springs from the darkened doorway, wiping away tears of painfull, side-splitting laughter, and burning with rage from bearing silent witness to the slaughter of the innocent.
I'm sure you just wanted to know what some of my favorites movies: Gladiator, Braveheart, Legends of the Falll, Man on Fire, Blackhawk Down, Last of the Mohicans, the Messenger, Eurotrip, Road Trip, Old School and Underworld...Television
I'm not much of a TV person. It seemed like I am never at home to watch the shows I want. For a while I followed Lost, Dirty Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and Heroes. Then they pretty much all took a big nose dive. Now I'm lucky if I even keep up with Lost.....Books
I enjoy Historical Fiction most of all. My favorite author is Bernard Cornwell. His Warlord Chronicles [Winter King, Enemy of God, Excalibur] are the best books about King Arthur I have ever read...
Heroes
As a boy, King Arthur was my hero. Unfortunately, now that I'm older we're not allowed to have heroes. You can't honor anyone for their deeds without three others writing about every dirty secret in their lives. If heroes do still exist, I know one man who would be listed close to the top: CWO Michael Durant from Blackhawk Down. His book, In the Company of Heroes, is one of the most compelling that I have read in a long time...

About me:
Despite the fact that an ice age has once again descended on Chicago and the permafrost snow cover will last four months, I'm dying to get back to playing paintball with my team, the Hellions. Although the new avatar system is gay, I still sometimes manage to make it on XBox Live every once in a while to play a little Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Tom Clancy games always look real and gritty, but in the past the game play has always left me somewhat frustrated when plagued by idiot team members. For those that haven't played it, the effects are completely insane! The use of cover and concealment, deviously intelligent enemies, rappelling in windows, blind-firing, getting cussed out in English and Spanish...and not to mention all the pretty lights of Sin City?!?! It is by far the best game I have ever played. Wanna play? My gamertag is Grendel ODA 133.
Paintball takes over most of my free time even during the off season. I used to have so many hobbies that I never seemed to have time to indulge in any of them. A couple of years ago I decided to concentrate on just one pasttime, and what can be more fun than shooting other people's kids?! I put together a good group of guys and we've had quite a bit of success. Over the last half of the 2006 season, we earned three Most Valued Team awards as well as individual awards for four different players. We also picked up sponsorships from the local Fraternal Order of Police lodge as well as the area's best paintball field, CPX Sports. In 2007 we picked up sponsorships from Tippmann Sports, Empire E'Vents, and RPS Marballizers. 2008 was even bigger year with the addition of Hammer Head as a sponsor and the team producing its very own scenario, HELLIONS: RED STORM RISING. The 2009 season should be even better. The team has added Full Clip USA to its sponsor list and will be playing several more fields this year. The team has grown large enough to need a command element.
My other hobby has always been Medieval Re-enactment. I've been fascinated with knights and armour ever since I was a little boy. I know I had promised myself I would give it up so that I could dedicate all my resources to paintball, but it is starting to call me back. Blame it on a recent trip to London. I got to walk through Westminster Abbey and see the tombs of all the great leaders I had read about as a boy. I explored the ramparts of Warwick Castle and studied the gothic armours in the Wallace Collection. Now I want to return next year and participate in some of their Living History events like the re-enactment of the battles of Bosworth or Tewkesbury. I recently received a new set of 15th Century Italian armour in the English style as well as other accoutrements. I am accepting all charitable, monetary donations this holiday season. Contribute to the Lonnie Colson Make-a-Wish Foundation. It's may not be completely tax-deductible--but it should be. I love to travel to new, far-off places and experience their unique peoples and cultures. Along the way, I've picked up a little Spanish, a mountain of pictures and a closet full of souvernirs, but I've also had the pleasure of making several life-long friendships across the globe...

It seems I'm always on a plane either going to or coming back from somewhere different. My career has given me the chance to see all kinds of exotic, distant locations. I bump into interesting people every day--some famous, some annoying, all with a story to tell...
