In 1915, planets aligned and forces collided when Aaron D. Wachter met Jonathan Errett at a Fraternal order of Eagles meeting in downtown Sharon Pennsylvania. Topics at the gathering that day included horseshoeing, President Wilson, and a proposal to buy the jukebox that once resided in the Sacred Heart Church that was now sitting in the parking lot of Purple Cow Video. The price was set at $50 firm.
After collecting donations from other FOE members, the two acquired a truck and brought the jukebox back to the hall. It was filled with many great records of the day including Donnie Iris, Huey Lewis, and Phil Collins to name a few. It was a blessed time in their young lives, and a remarkable era to have the gift of hearing. Having been heavily influenced by this music, the two then decided to learn to play guitar under the shaky hands of Andy "Richard" Putnam from Valley Guitar. They purchased some gear off Andy, he ripped them off, then Andy took a nap.
Nearly 90 years later after having existed in many bands with many names, the two decided to venture west and have a drink from the musical oasis in Seattle they heard so much about on their Ham Radio. They said goodbye to all 18 of their fans, and split.
After an entire month on the road, the two wound up in the International District of Seattle. Confused and hungry, they ventured out in search of the delicious cannoli they heard about from a blind rabbi on the 45 bus line. While walking down King street, the two happened upon an old woman holding a sign that stated simply: Ivan the Wheel.
"Ivan the Wheel, what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Jonathan asked angrily.
"It's my band's name" the person replied.
It was a strange name, but more importantly they realized this wasn't an old woman at all- it was a man. Just then the derelict lunged for the guitar slung on Aaron's back, embraced it's mighty oaken structure, and broke into song.
"My name's Brian Ondich motherfucker!!!!!!" he sang over and over again. It was obvious to them that he was no guitarist, and that he swore a lot.
After wrestling the guitar from his greasy hands, Brian assured them he could play drums since he had big hands.
At some point that night they decided to make reality of this Ivan the Wheel thing that Brian had floating around in his unstable homeless mind. After robbing Aaron and Jonathan that night, Brian was incarcerated at the King County Jail.
Aaron and Jonathan bailed him out and now they play in this band.
"An artist is someone who produces things that people don't need to have but that he - for some reason - thinks it would be a good idea to give them." Andy Warhol
