Trey Songz, Lyfe Jennings, Chris Brown, John Legend, Fantasia Barrino, Alicia Keys...these are artists I learn from. I hear their music and I listen to their styles. The one who appeals to me most is Trey Songz. I think it's his whole mission that captures my attention. His motive is 'I Gotta Make It'...what better way is there to put it? ya kno what i mean? He started off just like me, not taking music seriously, then it eventually started becoming him...look where my boy is now, see? Some may call it Soulful Pop. With a hint of vocal spirituality, mixed with a strong, new, and pure voice, any one is sure to be enlightened by an impressive assortment or~Array~.

"Versatility makes the man!" exclaims the Louisiana born and bred vocalist. Born in a typical family, Isaac Chatman always tried his hardest to go beyond normal boundaries. Even at a young age, being the most intelligent was a prerequisite for him, and his ingenious mind remains with him to this date. Growing up, music was never something looked at by him as being important. In fact, when his friends would bring up a topic about BET, he was often the uninformed one. It was in his early years when he actually realized he could sing. Watching Showtime at the Apollo, he often mimicked The National Anthem when it was performed and would often perform it, himself, while in the shower or when trying to impress his highly-supportive grandmother. "If it wasnt for her encouragement, I probably would be a cashier or bookkeeper or somethin."

In his early teen years, he learned to be in tune with the beauty of the Arts. He joined the band all three years of middle school and captured the hearts of many with his alto saxophone. His interest sparked more when he found his passion in cameras and in writing. His poetry would win numerous recognition and acclaim during his middle school life, including Young Authors contests and different literary competitions. He found rhyming to be "fun."
It was in High School in which Isaac found his new passion--music. He joined the high school band in tenth grade, where he met his closest friends and remained for three years. During different practices, he would be caught singing and his friends would urge him to continue. They boosted his confidence to the point where he let his band director insist on him performing a feature tune at one of their band competitions. He performed Come Go With Me by Teddy Pendergrass with the band at two of their battle of the bands on the same day at Plaquemine High School in Plaquemine, LA and Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, LA. Those were his first live performances in his life, which was unbelievable to him. "I had the crowd going wild," he reminds his friends, with a laugh. Two years later, in 2005, he repeated this, only with a friend joining him, the both of them singing My First Love by Avant and Keke Wyatt. "I realized then that I need the fame. The screaming voices of fans is something that I need to hear regularly. I need to feel that rush and that chill down my spine."

His mind was made up shortly after, that there was nothing else in life that he would rather do. He started singing at local churches (being called back regularly), he competed in different competitions, he was the main attraction at his schools first annual talent show, he performed at banquets and concerts alike, he sang The National Anthem on the steps of the State Capitol, and even formed a gospel group with his friends. He joined the school choir where he received special vocal coaching from his instructor. He would also receive training from a gifted friend. Three years of lessons allowed his voice to transform into a vocal masterpiece, as he calls it, filled with joyful melody and boundless delight. His never-ending love for poetry allowed him to start songwriting. "Soon after, God allowed me to find my kid brother, an individual gifted in producing tasty instrumentals. Our journey to the top soon began." Isaac would record his songs on his computer and bring samples to school. When his peers heard his work, they would praise him highly and commend him, accordingly. "One moment I won't forget for a while is one day, my homeboy Devon came runnin to my class and asked the teacher could he see me for a minute, so I walked in the hall and he told me how he had played one of my joints in his classes and everybody was goin wild. I love to hear stuff like that."

His strange passion for reading the thesaurus eventually led him to a stage name that depicted not only his versatility as a singer, but his overall persona, as well...~Array~. "I refer to myself as an imminent array of infatuation, which basically means I am a variety of obsession on the rise. Array means variety, which best describes my style. I'd write somethin very sultry and mellow, with a lot of soul in it. Then, dependin on my mood, Id hit you wit some hard type stuff. Then, I might seal the deal wit a slow ballad wit bangin harmony parts...it's a beautiful thing."
"While other people are out there trying to make it, comparing themselves to artists already in the game, I refuse to. Why would we need another Avant or Prince in the industry when we got that already?" The scrupulous songbird frequently reminds society that he brings to the game a fresh, new voice with enduring capabilities. "Aint nobody ever heard a voice like mine. Call it unique if you have to. My purpose is to bring forth somethin genuine and thats exactly what Im gonna do. Just like Trey Songz, I gotta make it and while other folks are out there following their dreams, I dont have time for that, Imma chase mine."
