My musical tastes are eclectic. I'm a fan of many artists, styles and genres. The way a song moves me determines what I like and don't like. There is so much out there that I consider great music; and so much out there that I don't. I form my own opinions.
Comedies, Dramas, Romances, Musicals, old-style Hollywood classics, mostly anything, depending on my mood. Love happy endings. Occasionally, scary movies, but only during the day. :)
Television
Some of everything. Mostly nothing.
Books
Heroes
Teachers, Civil Rights Activists, Buffalo Soldiers, Negro League Ball Players, The Tuskegee Airmen, American servicemembers, The Suffragettes...ANYONE who has ever done something difficult, unpopular, painful, or scary to preserve or improve life for someone else.
About me: I am a writer. My favorite color is orange, and I like to smile. I say that write for a living, because writing is my life, but not my livelihood at the moment. I'm confident that one day, it will happen. I try to choose my words carefully, because I tend to take people at their words. For as hard as I try, I realize that there are times when the words I use will not be received as I intend them to be. I'm trusting, but not gullible, forgiving, but not foolish. I want to contribute something to making others' lives better for having known me. Learning is a life-long process. Every day, I am utterly amazed that God continues to love me in spite of myself.
Pet Peeves: Rude, ill-mannered people; poor customer service; wasting my time or my money

FANTASY LIST:
I would love to have seen Sam Cooke perform live at the Harlem Square Club or at any gospel venue with the Soul Stirrers; seen Dr. King speak at the March on Washington; had a conversation with Marilyn Monroe; just been in a room to listen to Gordon Parks talk about life; written a screenplay for Tupac to win an Oscar; known my grandparents in their 20's...

Because I'm here for networking, I'm willing to add anyone as a friend, as long as you keep your agenda positive and your comments clean and tasteful. For the record, cuss words don't bother me, as I believe that they can either serve to punctuate or obscure one's message, depending on how or how often they are used. How you choose to expand or limit your vocabulary is your business, but I suggest you read a book. I'll chat with anyone who has something positive or contructive to say. No offense to anyone, but I delete any signs of nonsense. MySpace. My rules. My discretion.
