What I Do Not Do: Relocate cats - it is illegal since ferals are considered wildlife, I will not accept cats for adoption - I'm not a sanctuary, and lastly I will not participate in cat trapping for euthanasia - I do not support the killing of ferals, they have a right to live out their life.

About me: It's Meow or Never for Ferals is a 501(c)3 educational non-profit organization helping to spread awareness about feral cats and the benefits of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). I help citizens through out North Florida and South Georgia implement Trap-Neuter-Return programs in their own neighborhoods, communities, and apartment complexes by providing information, guidance, and support while they take on the task of caring for homeless cats in their neighborhoods. So, if you'd like to get more involved in your community by performing Trap-Neuter-Return for feral and stray cats you've seen around please contact me, I here to help and answer your questions you have along the way. =^..^=
What is a feral cat? A "feral" cat is one who has reverted in some degree to a wild state. They originate from former domestic cats who were lost or abandoned and then learned to live outdoors or in environments involving little human contact, such as warehouses, factories or abandoned buildings. In most cases, feral cats are not completely wild because they still depend on people for their food source, whether it's a caretaker who comes by once or twice a day, a dumpster outside a restaurant, garbage cans, or the like. Relatively few feral cats subsist only by hunting. There are approximately 80 million stray and feral cats living in the streets through out the US. 86% of kittens brought into animal shelters come from feral mothers, that is why is it so important to spay and neuter stray and feral cats, so if you feed 'em, please fix 'em! It's also important to recognize that if a cat is truly feral, then the most compassionate choice is to allow them to live outdoors. Trying to domesticate them would be no different than trying to make a squirrel or a raccoon a household companion - you might succeed somewhat, but never fully and only with a great deal of time and patience. Moreover, you would not be permitting the animal to live in a manner that suits him best. Many well-meaning people, convinced they are "saving" a feral cat by bringing him indoors, end up condemning the poor creature to a life of hiding under the bed and being in constant fear. TNR (trap/neuter/return) respects a feral cat's wild state. TNR is a comprehensive plan where entire feral colonies are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, and neutered by veterinarians. Kittens and cats that are tame enough to be adopted are placed in good homes. Adult cats are returned to their familiar habitat to live out their lives under the watchful care of sympathetic neighborhood volunteers. TNR works. Cat populations are gradually reduced. Nuisance behaviors associated with breeding, such as the yowling of females, the spraying of toms, and territorial fighting are virtually eliminated. Disease is also greatly reduced because it is no longer being spread via fighting and mating. The cats can then live out their lives as healthy, safe, and peaceful good citizens.
