From the often undestimated scene of Vancouver, Jay Kin, labled as one of VANCITY'S BEST, brings raw and soulful music. Rapping since 12, he spent his early years listening to The Gap Band, Parliament, Teddy Pendergrass, Grand Master Flash, LL Cool J and many more who he credits with sparking his interest in music. Jay Kin’s passion for writing lyrics, introduced him to the scene at 16 with the P.O.S. crew. At 18, he took his passion to the stage, opening for large acts such as Raekwon, Common, Juelz Santana, Lupe Fiasco, Mobb Deep, Talib Kweli and Souls of Mischief. Now 23, he has released several CD's and vinyl’s including "The Vintage Mixtape", "Show Time the Rebuttle", "Year of the Flow", and latest release "No Time To Waste" In 2005, Jay won the 1st Songclash competition, held by Grow-Op Records. Nothing fabricated or copied, he continues to make strong music with big plans for his future album titled "Kinfolk.”
