Harrisburg, PA born and a current Atlanta, GA resident, Jay L is by no means new to the entertainment scene. As a teenager he sharpened his skills by earning props from local talent shows, and city showcases. Jay L’s big break came when he won 1st place at the world famous “Apollo”. Jay L’s talent was evident with his first appearance at the world famous “Apollo” in 1994. That earned him a showcase with Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Babyface. Jay L has also graced the stage with some of the best R&B and Rap artists in the industry, including Master P, David Banner, Public Announcement, City High and Case. Previously being signed under J-Pat Management allowed him to showcase for other great artists such as Usher. A huge favorite with the ladies, Jay L knows how to captivate his crowd and hold them in awe. This was evident at his two outstanding performances at the famous Apollo Theater in New York where he won over the tough Amateur Night audience with his melodic, sensual vocals. As his song, “She’s Wanting More” suggests, his performances always leave his audience wanting more. Jay L has other talents that complement his music. This multitalented artist has appeared in such movies as “Any Given Sunday” with Jamie Fox, Al Pacino, Dennis Quaid and LL Cool J; and “Random Hearts” with Harrison Ford. His video appearances include “Heartbreak Hotel” with legendary divas Whitney Houston, Kelly Price and Faith Evans. He has pursued his acting career by appearing in the play “Cousin Earl” with Charles Smith. Jay L has also performed on TV shows including: Word of Mouth and The Cutting Edge. His song “When I Rise”, along with a cover of “Catching of an Eye” is currently in Walden Books and Borders bookstores as a compliment to the book Catching of an Eye by Kimberly Gonzalez.

Jay L has the look and swagger of a rapper, but the voice of a singer that makes audiences wonder what he is going to do when he performs on stage.
In 2008, his Single “Riding on 24’s” and his B-side Single “By My Side” received great responses on a 6-week DJ Campaign (5000 DJ’s serviced). He has done Drops and Interviews (93.7fm in Sydney, Australia has been on the record Heavy and 76.1 InterFM, Tokyo, Japan put “By My Side” in Rotation). Jay L’s forthcoming album is entitled The Wait is Over. In 2008, Jay L also Co-Wrote the song “So Hot” on Sandrine’s (Belgium based Artist) album Boosted2 (Capitol). In 2009, catch Jay L performing with a live band every Tuesday Night at Café 290 on Roswell Rd. in Sandy Springs, GA. You may also catch him performing live with a live band on Wednesday Nights at The Apache Café in Downtown ATL on 3rd St. off of Spring St.
