I enjoy reading, writing sometimes, bike riding or anything that lets me appreciate a nice day outside, and travelling...especially when I can come back with a load of pictures! I am also a Catholic and do get concerned how strong with my faith I am. My other interests include Transformers, Masters of the Universe, classic video games, pro wrestling (mostly '80s stuff or independent promotions), and comics and super heroes. As you can gather, the pleasant memories of my past inspire me a great deal and make me feel good. It can be a blessing and a curse though, as that also reminds me how things have changed, but not necessarily for the better.
Music
I am pretty much strictly old school. Love lots of stuff from the '50s-'80s mostly...even some older! I am big on the ladies, especially Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark, Marianne Faithfull, Lulu, Peggy Lee, Anne Murray, Baby Jane Dexter, and others. You can probably tell I offer double points for ones from the UK.
Movies
No particular genre, as long as it's GOOD (with the exception of maybe B-movies, I give them a pass cause I do like cheesy bad too). Don't really get out much for most current stuff, actually, unless it's an adaption of a character I like AND done well. That or if someone I like is starring in it. I do like classic movies a lot, especially Jean Harlow or Betty Grable.
Television
LOTS of Britcoms: Ab Fab, Coupling, Brittas Empire, Little Britain, Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, Fawlty Towers, The Vicar of Dibley, The Thin Blue Line, Mr. Bean, Blackadder, My Hero, the list goes on and on! Not necessarily all my UK favorites are comedies: there's also The Avengers (pretty much all eras) and some stuff on PBS' Mystery!, especially Hetty Wainthropp and Mrs. Bradley. Also like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The DC Animated Universe ala Bruce Timm et al, several '80s-and-back cartoons (He-Man, Transformers, Superfriends, Danger Mouse, Popeye) and pre-90s sitcoms (That Girl, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda), and many '70s-'80s game shows.
I also have a quite interesting fascination: station IDs, continuities, and local movie opens (especially from the '80s and back), and TV and movie closing logos. I also love old commercials, mostly '80s of course.
Heroes
The artists and performers I admire, and the good friends and family I've had in my life.
I was born 5/24/1977. I'm from Edison, NJ. I am currently a reference librarian, and I got my Masters in Library and Info. Sciences from Rutgers College in 2003. I also have Asperger's syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism.
Who I'd like to meet: Someone who can connect with me on many of my interests; also, smart and funny, with a great personality.
