Jonas Brothers’ highly anticipated new album Lines, Vines and Trying Times is scheduled for world wide release June 16, and the ramp up kicks off May 8 with the release of the first single, “Paranoid.” On May 8, “Paranoid” will roll out to radio and online worldwide, and on Verizon for ring tones. The single will be available for digital download on iTunes staring May 12. The video for “Paranoid” will be directed by The Malloys, who previously worked with Jonas Brothers on their smash hit single and video “Burnin’ Up.”
Lines, Vines and Trying Times showcases an incredible musical journey by the Jonas Brothers, as well as their growth as songwriters and musicians. They’ve incorporated horns into several songs, as well as harmonicas and peddle steel guitars. The first single, “Paranoid,” is a guitar driven dance evoking song, and the entire CD is a veritable smorgasbord of pop and rock gems. “World War III” is a funk metaphor for a confrontational relationship. Written by Nick Jonas, he asserts, “This is a personal experience for me. ‘World War III’ deals with the challenge of a girl who keeps attacking you, provoking you, trying to fight you, but all the while she’s the only one fighting.” “Fly With Me” which is also the end title credit for the upcoming “Night At The Museum 2” film (due in theaters May 22), was written by Jonas Brothers and their bass player Greg Garbowsky, and is sure to become a love song for the ages. On “Poison Ivy” Jonas Brothers added a horn section. In their summer music preview issue, Rolling Stone described the ultracatchy “Poison Ivy” as a “Weezer-ish tune about a toxic girl that you can’t resist.” “Hey Baby” is a classic “she done him wrong” song written entirely by Jonas Brothers. “We wrote this song for the last record while on the road and felt the old school sound was more cohesive with our present style,” explains Nick Jonas.
With all these themes, it’s easy to see how Jonas Brothers came up with the title Lines, Vines and Trying Times. Says Joe Jonas, “Lines are the “proverbial” lines people will feed you, and vines are obstacles that get in your way.” Adds Kevin Jonas, “Trying Times can be relationships, or anything personal to you. No one is alone in that; we all go through it.”

Dear Nick, Joe and Kevin, My daughter Megan Owens has been a fan of yours since the very beginning of your career. We have never been able to get her to a concert. For her 16th birthday, which is October 29, 2009 her father and I thought we would surprise her and get her Jonas Brothers tickets. We got onto Ticketmaster right away and purchased 2 tickets for Friday July 17, 2009 at 7 p.m. We received an email confirmation of this and when we received the 2 tickets they were for Saturday July 18, much higher up (section) balcony 304, row 11, seats 17 and 18. She has wanted nothing more than to have awesome seats and to be able to meet you guys. It would mean the world to her! Megan is absolutely ecstatic about going to the concert, however we are disappointed in the way the seats were given out and dates changed. Her father has called the manager of Ticketmaster and the manager has not called us back. Is there anything you guys can do to make this an awesome sweet 16 for an awesome fan (our daughter Megan)? I talk about you 24/7 to to my family telling them what you guys are up to, what you have out, and how much I love everything you do. I know you can't really love a thing only a person but how is it possible for me not to love your movie, your music, your show, your saynow, and so much more. They still love the fans, no matter how ungreatful they may appear to be, and no matter how intrusive they are with their lives, they still love them. Fans are the reason they're big, they repay that love with performing their hearts out. ------------- I don't think all fans are ungrateful or intrusive. Certainly some but not all! I hope they know that!
============= i know right like i said the other day, i wish they would just come on here and talk to us like normal people. so that we can tell them how much we love them. lately i feel like they havent been getting the right impressions from us. i wish they could just hear our side and see how much we really do appreciate everything they do otherwise we wouldn't even be here. if we seem a little mean or intrusive in their private lifes its just cause we're looking out for their best interest and always making sure they're happy. i know it sounds weird but we just want the best for them you know? i just wish they knew how proud we were of them. idk...
