I have loved Chaka Chan, Nancy Wilson, Etta James, Anita Baker,Teena Marie, and The late Phyllis Hyman. for as long as i can remember, they have all influenced me in one way or another! but as a child, I thought my name was Diana Ross!
she influenced my style and poise on stage the most! She sang jazz and r&b, and even pop! there are so many wonderful aspects to this woman,my sound, no one has infleunced that more than Chaka, and Phyllis their voices are so smooth and rich and they both delivered with such power! I'm still moved to tears when i see Chaka perform she sounds like a brass instrument to me. I made up my mind to never be held to just one aspect of myself or my creativity!
I'm so thankful to all these amazing women in music!
