A fire started a couple of days ago here in medford on the hillside of the valley. It was pretty close imo. The town has been smoked out. Back east it was electrical storms hurricanes and tornadoes. Here it's fires and tsunamis lol. I was doing some research and i think back in the early 70's a tsunami hit this whole coastline. Washington Oregon and North California.
I'll sum up sunspots as well lol. So depending on how large or how many suspots are "Cycling" changes the earths atmosphere and weather. It also makes the Aurora lights. Some sort of magnetic charge from the sunspots effects the earth. It also makes the earth cooler. So to my understanding if we have sunspots expect cooler weather and a nice light show in the sky?? I'm not sure about any of this stuff so feel free to add input lol. Cheers. Oh i also read they're building rest stops in space for space travel lol. 3 so far lol. One is between the earth and moon, i don't know lol, but sounds pretty cool. I wanna go lol.
So i was just doing a little research on space. So like basically greenhouse gases travel through the different parts of the atmosphere, Troposphere is the part of the atmosphere we live in, Tropopause is the next layer of atmosphere and then there is stratoshpere and stratopuase. This is where the ozone lays. The ozone is made up of oxygen molecules and only a few chemical gases such as chlorine evaporate up into that part of atmosphere and break the oxygen molecules down, therefore depleting the ozone layer. I also read that of course the atmosphere above us is cooler so depletion of the ozone layer will actually cool the planet earth lol. But also lets in larger amounts of UV. So sum up ozone depletion has nothing to do with cooling of the planet. From what i gather anyways.
Well, didn't make it to the Gorge lol. Did get insurance on the tickets though. Sweet... I've been staying way to busy lol. Fall is right around the corner. It's my favorite season!!!!!!
The Perseid meteor shower is about to peak. The show begins after sunset on Tuesday, August 11th, and continues until dawn on Wednesday, August 12th. During the long night, sky watchers could see dozens of meteors per hour. Cheers
Think steph and i are going up to George, Washington to listen to Dave Mathews Band play at the Gorge. She ordered the tickets and reserved us a 2 night stay today lol. It's a 3 day concert but we're only going the first night lol. I remember when we listen to him play in Hartford, Connecticut. Man that was a crazy concert lol. It was a 3 day concert. We went all 3 days. Man day 1 was really cool, except for the Watchtowers in the back of the stadium. Armed police just standing up there with rifles. Wow lol. 2nd night i was seeing a butcher knife floating across the big screen all night. Just every once in a while it would come up. It was weird. 3rd night was way to much lol. I kid you not like 300 people chics and dudes just passed out everywhere. OMG lol chics were just hurling to the left and the right of me. Man good times lol. That will be a pretty cool concert.
All is well. Just found some new Modest Mouse jams that came out on some singles. Sweet. I have a few excellent Bonsai in the making lol. I have a Chinese Elm (Ulmus Parvifolia) that is standing 9" tall (upright) and is starting to develop a nice branching pattern. I had to put a stake in the pot today lol, it was getting a little top heavy. Seems to be holding up fine now. Just temporary, till the trunk thickens at the top then it will be fine. I'll take a pic and throw it in my Bonsai folder. I also have a Chinese Wisteria that has had a nice growth since April. April is when I germinated them. Lets see, i have 2 Hinoki Cypress that are looking pretty nice. They have these cool little white flowers that bud out around June or so. They are just now starting to fall off so a nice 2 month flowering. Adds a nice little feature to the tree i have to say lol.
What a narly sunday. The sun is out and it's 77F outside. Stayed up last night throwing frisbee outside. It has green led lights on it so you can see it flying in the dark lol. Pretty cool got it at target. Frisbee is way fun. Cheers
I watched "Humboldt County" last night. What an excellent movie. Actually Humboldt County is in Northern California, about 3.5 hrs from here. It totally gives a good interpretation of what it's like out here out of the rat race lol. Cheers
I spent my whole day today working on my aquariums and trees seedlings. I was working on my aquariums the other night and asked myself a question lol. In say 10 years from now, will i wish i would have done something different with my time now. Right now 90% of my time is dedicated to my trees, aquariums and my health. So i ask what more should i be searching for? I'm coming up empty handed. I don't think there is much more to expect in all realness. It made me start thinking about what i want in the future. I think i would like to have a little commercial building somewhere with a few aquariums setup for selling corals. In the back of the building i would like to have a little attatched greenhouse where i keep my trees lol. Of course the store front would only be for pleasure. I wouldn't want to ruin the hobbies by putting a demand on selling my things lol.
Just finished cleaning up my 30 gallon shallow reef aquarium. It's pretty small just 2'x2'square 14" tall. I have my light loving corals setup in it. 400W Metal Halide at 10K spectrum. 10K spectrum is a whiter light. I believe the lighting most used in this hobby will be 10K 12K 14K 20K. 10K is white and 20K is Blue. So 12K is white blue 14K is blue white an 20K is blue.
Mark your calendar for June 19th. On that Friday morning, Venus, Mars and the crescent Moon will gather in the pre-dawn sky for a lovely triple conjunction. It's a great way to begin the day.
