We sincerely appreciate all of your amazing comments on our Dad's Myspace page. We truly hope that you will check back with us periodically so we can all stay in touch, friends were family in my Dad's eyes and we know he will be reading everything that is written and communicated on his page.

Lets keep his memory alive!

Warmly,

devon & family

--------------------------------------------------------------

Extremely saddening news... I hoped I never had to write... Our extremely amazing Dad and your friend Jack Armstrong aka John C. Larsh passed away yesterday March 22, 2008 at his home in North Carolina. I wish there was a better way to get the word out but this seems to be the fastest means of communication that he favored. If you knew him at all, you would know that he wouldn't want you to be sad for a moment. He would want you to remember all the good times, what he gave to radio and to the world. He would also want you to help fight to bring back the personality in radio if at all possible. He loved being a DJ almost as much as he loved being a father and that says A LOT. He put his blood, sweat and tears into both and never gave up what he believed in. He was honest, brave and could tell a joke like no other!! He was the best at everything he did and I know that he touched each and every one of us. I dont know how he would sign off this letter, maybe it would be "Yoooooouuuuurrr LLLlleeeadaaa!" or just straight up "Jack it up" either which way he would have done it better than anyone. Please remember him in all that you do, pass on kindness, be true to yourself and to those you love. If you have any questions, please email me at JackArmstrong08@gmail.com Very sad, devon larsh fischer ....Jack's middle daughter who loves him greatly - he was an exceptional person

.Jack was a radio annuncer (DJ) for over 47 years!

Who I'd like to meet:
"If you're looking for radio experience in your on-air personalities, look no further. Meet Jack Armstrong, a legend in radio broadcasting. In his illustrious career, Jack has worked for over 25 radio stations in over 17 markets including Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, Denver and, of course, Buffalo.

Jack's first stint with KB 1520 was back in November of 1970 when he worked with the powerhouse station until 1973. During that time, Jack held the Guinness Book world record for "The World's Fastest Talking Human". He also held the Guinness Book record for the most revolutions on a roller coaster when he road the Thunderbolt in Pittsburgh for 750 revolutions in 34 hours!

Jack's crazy personality has also led him to be buried alive, put into a snake pit, and forced to stay awake for 104 straight hours all for the enjoyment of his listeners. But don't ask Jack to do that again, he says he'll never even think about doing any of those again.

Besides radio, Jack has also done television work for Nickelodeon, MTV and various local television stations in San Francisco, Fresno, Denver and Cleveland. Jack is also in the "Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame exhibit "This Is Dedicated To The Ones We Love ... 100 Jocks from 1935 to date" where he's listed with sound for two cities: Cleveland and Buffalo"

Thanks for the add. I was saddened to hear of Jack's passing. I was very young when Jack was on WIXY here in Cleveland, but I did listen to him and enjoy him and was happy whenever he came to town to participate in a WIXY reunion.
God Bless you, Jack!

I don't know why, but for some reason, YouTube videos that are posted in Jack's comment space, seem to have a problem playing correctly.
If the videos are played from YouTube, they are fine. It's probably a software bug on Jack's page...So, just go to YouTube. com and enter "Jack Armstrong" and play the videos through YouTube..

Jackson Armstrong RIP
You are one of the major reasons I loved radio in the 1970's...you got me thru my high school years in Connecticut (WKBW) and then in college at USC (KFI & KKHR)....I was proud to work the Bus Boys Concert as a promoter at Cal State LA where you MCed the event.
Rock n' Roll Heaven has a new host! Rock on Jackson!

Dearest Devon and Jackson's family,

I am so deeply saddened by the loss of your father. I met him in 1974 in Pittsburgh when he was a DJ for WKTQ-AM (13Q). Your father was the simply put - the GREATEST. He was down to earth and above all kind and warm hearted. It was years later, in 2002, that I was able to email him and reminisce about the inspiration he was to me. It was just about two years ago that he told me about his autobiography. I sat and enjoyed the excerpts that he provided to me by email and on myspace. My last conversation with him has been a while back and how he was trying to find a publisher. I truly wish he could have published it. The accomplishments in his life are truly remarkable and deserved to be read.

I can not believe that he is gone from us here. Words can not describe the loss I feel. I can only imagine how you all feel. I will truly miss my "LEEEEEEEAAAADDDDERRR" of the airwaves. No one will ever come close to him in my eyes.

May God Bless him and you and your family in this time of sorrow. I wish I could travel to North Carolina to pay my respects.

God Bless you Jackson Armstrong !!! You will always be my LEADER !!!

i wish I could be with you on Friday, but it's a long way from the UK.
I'm sure that through the sadness and tears there will be a lot of smiles when people remember the whacky Jack we know and love.
Let the thought of how many people loved him carry you through these hard times.
I'll keep you all in my thoughts on Friday.
The great radio station in sky just got a new DJ and they got the best.
Lots of love

Jack, my dear friend.

Thank you for the inspiration over my 29 year career and our telephone calls once a month or so!

I will miss you greatly and my condolences to all your family.

Thank you for teaching me the "Gorilla" and for allowing me to use him here on Australian airwaves.

Keep "Jackin' It Up" on that great radio frequency in the sky.

As I always promised, I'll Keep on rockin' in the free World' as long as I can in your memory.

Farewell from your friend.

Devon and family,

My thoughts will be with all of you on Friday. Jack was not only a super talented DJ, but a friend to the many people whom he connected with via email and here on myspace. It was his unique humor and his caring nature that helped me through many a tough spot in my life, and I shall always remember him for that.
