Band MembersJOHN CAPEK - PRODUCER

Composer, arranger, keyboardist, and producer John Capek is originally from Prague, Czechoslovakia. As a teenager he co-founded the Carson County Band, which became one of Australia’s most popular Blues bands. John then emigrated to Canada and became a keyboardist and song arranger for pop bands, including Marc Jordan, Dan Hill, and Diane Brooks and produced chart topping recordings for Hill, Ken Tobias, The Good Brothers, among others. He and Marc Jordan formed a songwriter partnership with Jordan.

John moved to Los Angeles, where he placed songs with Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Diana Ross, Manhattan Transfer and many others. In 1995 he returned to L.A. and continued writing for Rod Stewart, Cher, Amanda Marshall, Bonnie Raitt and others.   In 2002, John became a Director of the Songwriters Association of Canada and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2005, a founding faculty member of the Royal Conservatory of Music songwriting division.

He has written over 1500 songs, including the international number 1 hit, “Rhythm Of My Heart” by Rod Stewart and “Take Me Home” by Joe Cocker. His songs have also been used in films such as Cocktail, the Silencer and the Perfect Storm.

MARTIN COHN - EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Martin Cohn has been instrumental in the foundation of the careers of musicians who have become popular music’s international icons. As an A&R executive at Warner Brothers Records during a seminal time, Martin’s ear for talent became legendary.

Through his career history Martin has been professionally connected to, engineered, produced and dined with everyone from Bing Crosby to Jimmy Hendrix. His first signings to Warner’s included the Doobie Brothers, Montrose and Tower of Power resulting in three platinum records in a row. With an educated instinct for talent that sells, Martin has been instrumental in helping to develop or sign Bruce Hornsby, Van Halen, Dire Straits, Tom Petty, Christopher Cross and many others to major recording careers.

Martin’s industry knowledge and connections provide Jamie Clark Music with guidance and direction to optimize our business opportunities and accelerate our growth.

JAMIE CLARK

Singer, Songwriter and Musician

Music has been a constant in Jamie Clark’s life since he was a small child growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area. His natural gift emerged early at age 11, when inspired by his first crush, Jamie wrote a song called “What Do You Think When You Fall In Love”.

He already knew that he was meant to fill the world with his music. Drawn to artists with “big voices,” he would sit in his room for hours, singing along with the radio and dreaming of having the world’s largest PA system so that the entire Bay Area could hear his voice.

Using wind instruments that his musician father brought home, Jamie began to experiment with music and gradually taught himself to play piano. As he moved into his teenage years, he continued writing songs and formed his first band, “Tensity” with his high school classmates. Drawn to music and lyrics about life, love, and relationships, he gravitated toward musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Bryan Adams and Luther Vandross for inspiration.

Jamie’s childhood and teen years were plagued with hardship and tragedy, including the loss of his father. Leaving home at age 18, Jamie found his way in the world, putting himself through college -- the first in his extended family to have graduated from a university -- majoring in Sociology with a Psychology minor.

At this time, Jamie was asked to lead a professional cover band called “Sharp Shooter” that played numerous venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and opened for prominent artists such as Eddie Money. The band’s success enabled Jamie to begin realizing what has turned out to be his lifelong commitment to music and charitable work.

During college, Jamie began a career as a social worker, dedicated to helping the homeless. He started playing guitar and singing songs for homeless youth, and formed his first all original band called “East Avenue Angel” specifically to raise money for charity. He was also instrumental in founding the “Northern California Center Starlight Program” for runaway youth.

Still engaged in social work but realizing that he wanted to touch people with his music, Jamie continued to write songs, develop his voice and his own unique sound. He recorded his first album “11:11” in San Francisco and Chicago with band members from Journey and Santana. Jamie then continued recording and performing live, opening for artists such as Van Morrison, Elvis Costello and John Lee Hooker.

Recognizing that bringing his music to the world would require increased financial resources, Jamie transitioned to a career in sales, focusing on technology, the wine industry, solar and alternative energy technologies.

He continued to record songs in the studio with then band “Jamie Clark And The Refractors” and in 2006 recorded his “Live” album “The County Q Sessions”, with Nashville, Tennessee’s own highly regarded session band, “The Player’s”. All 12 songs were recorded in this remarkable 10 hour session. Both his rapidly growing fan base and the music industry took notice. Jamie then assembled a team of music industry veterans to work with him on his latest endeavor, “This World”.

For Jamie Clark, music is not just in his blood, it is his blood. His life experiences and ongoing dedication to his music have come together to create relevant yet timeless music. Jamie Clark is here to stay.

THIS WORLD

An entire area of popular music has been grossly underserved by the established record industry. While the record labels have fucused their energy at what they consider to be “hip” and current, their largest sales continue to be the combination of old catalogue and the “American Songbook” . The American Songbook” genre and associated classic pop music has proven to be an extraorary success in sales for Rod Stewart, Josh Grobam, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Buble despite all indicators. Adults complain that they have nothing new to listen to.as the catalogue of songs in that genre has rapidly become depleted. A new American Songbook is being created for and by a unique performer Jamie Clark who has the voice and the talent to continue in this great tradition both in popularity, longevity. The adult audience is hungry for new blood. Jamie Clark, The New American songbook.

Introducing JAMIE CLARK

Jamie Clark, is a singer and songwriter born in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jamie, a consummate performer having worked with legendary international musicians will soon take center stage with a unique blend of new music which reaches into the listeners soul.

SIZE MATTERS

There are iconic singers who have best been described as having a big voice. From Roy Orbison to Elvis, from Pavarotti to Freddy Mercury, these are all voices of size, dimension and greatness that define our era of popular music.

Jamie Clark has a huge voice that is every bit equal in size dimension and greatness. Jamie has one hell of a big voice.

ROMANCE

There are singers who are best described as having a romantic voice. The kind of voice that will temp the untemptable, romance the unromantic and whisper to those unwilling to hear. Our greatest romantic singers are people like John Mayer, Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli.

Jamie Clark's voice can melt the hearts of hardened souls. Jamie speaks to the most vulnerable layer of romantic depths and kisses the jaded with his songs. Jamie sings about love lost and love renewed and love yet to be with passion and soul.

INTERPRETATION

Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Michael Buble' have been great interpreters of song lyrics, making the songs that they perform their own. The songs that Jamie Clark has chosen to record are soon to be classic songs crafted by the greatest songwriters of our time. Jamie has made them his own and has defined his path to greatness through these songs.

Perhaps "Americana" is the best expression of Jamie's style initially influenced by Roy, Elvis, Bruce and Bob but now defining a Jamie Clark style unique unto itself.

Jamie Clark, powerful, universal and passionate and inspiring. A voice we need to hear.

THE COUNTY Q SESSIONS

John Shelton Ivany, Top 21 Magazine Review - The independently released "County Q Sessions" is an impressive start to a career. Clark has an impressive set of lungs that, according to rumor, sung all but two tracks in one take. Bruce Springsteen shows up heavily in Clark's music, but he also has his own style that is more rock 'n roll. He teamed up with a wealth of talent: The Players, featuring Gary Smith ..boards, Eddie Bayers on drums, Mike Brignardello on bass, Brent Mason on guitars and Danny Parks on guitars as well. Jamie Clark with The Players creates a country rock album that is sure to inspire more than a whisper with record companies. John Shelton Ivany, Top 21

THE COUNTY Q SESSIONS can be purchased on iTunes or CD baby.
