In December of 2007, my lifelong friend, Eleanor, was diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing a mastectomy and months of chemotherapy, her recovery was slow and painful. We spoke a few times over the phone, but for nearly seven months, she wouldn’t let me visit her. “I can’t let you see me like this,” she always insisted.
Finally, in July of 2008, I flew to South Florida and visited with my dear friend. That afternoon, with my acoustic guitar, I played for her “The Jogger”, a song I had written a couple years back about overcoming obstacles and pursuing life at all costs. As tears stumbled down her cheeks, she asked, “Where was this song a year ago?”
Her words moved me to action. When I arrived back in New York City, I recorded “The Jogger” and five other songs using Garage Band, the recording software that came with my Apple computer. Aside from my guitar and laptop, no other hardware or software was used in the production of the music. In one week, all the music for The Eleanor EP was finished.
My mission is to sell the album and donate all of the profits to the fight against breast cancer.
The Eleanor EP is dedicated to Eleanor and everyone else who needs their spirits lifted and hopes heightened as they fight the good fight…for life.
The CDs will be ready for sale by September 20th.

Beloved Jared, thank you for your friendship. Thank you for your positive energy, and thank you for sharing your love. Please, give a little extra love and a sound belly-scratching to Mr. Kojack on my behalf. Peace, my friend. Brenda
