People say i sound like Wayne Wonder, indeed it's an honor to be compared to such a talented singer but i believe my style is like no other.
Jason Lyrics is a promising new reggae artist who has his mind set on making a positive mark on the music industry with his soulfulness and creativity. His music stems from deep within, where he blends classic Reggae with R&B, Jazz and Pure Soul. Jason Lyrics is not only an artist, he's also a producer and songwriter who is totally business minded and focused.
Hailing from St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies, Jason Lyrics began his musical career back in Jamaica while attending high school. He would frequently do concerts in school and around his community, was a member of the school choir and represented his school at the national level, where he won a gold medal doing a rendition of the popular song originally done by Shai - If i ever fall in love. After high school, Jason went to New York City, where he quickly became a part of the local music circle in and around Brooklyn. He has performed at many events in many States, and has been blessed to have shared the stage with the likes of Lt Stichie, Sugar Minott, Everton Blender and the late great Dennis Brown. He has also done background vocals for Kasief Lindo, Yvad, Pam Hall, Marcia Griffiths, Dobby Dobson and Natty King.
Maxi priest, Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Anita Baker, R Kelly and Beres Hammond are just some of the many wonderful entertainers who Jason Lyrics has drawn inspiration from in molding and shaping his musical style.
Because of the nature of the business of music, Jason Lyrics believes that no one is going to believe in you like you, and has established his own company (Worldflavas Entertainment). He has completed tracks with Alley Cat, Chuck Turner, Kyenie, Currant Man, Mixcilous, Progrez and Lynx so far, and is putting together a compilation album. Jason Lyrics and Mega Banton recently hit the road to Milwaukee, Indianapolis and Chicago on a 3 city tour, followed byAtlanta, South Carolina & North Carolina. Stay tune for more from Jason Lyrics
